Title: Brain Teaser, Tuesday May 11th
Post by: mharrell08 on May 11, 2010, 05:39:12 PM
This is a good one...

Traveling to a city, an old man lost his way. He came to a fork in the road and did not know which road to take. Standing at the fork were two men. Next to the men was a sign, which you may assume is correct, which stated that one of the two men always told the truth and one of the men always told lies (but it was not known which was which). The sign went on to say that travelers could only ask one of the men one question.

What question could the old man pose that would give him the information he needs to choose the correct route?

P.S. Here is 1 hint: the sign is telling the truth...one man ALWAYS tells the truth and the other ALWAYS tells lies.

Ask one of the men which way the other man would say to go and then go the other way.

Here's one in the meantime:

An Arab sheikh tells his two sons to race their camels to a distant city to see who will inherit his fortune. The one whose camel is slower will win. The brothers, after wandering aimlessly for days, ask a wise man for advise. After hearing the advice they jump on the camels and race as fast as they can to the city. What does the wise man say?
