I saw a bumper sticker advertising a Website, www.jesuscansave.com. I was thinking, "Excuse me! Jesus CAN save? What's up with that? How about 'Jesus DOES save!'"
This just shows how insidious the messages in all the corrupted scriptures are.

Yes Annie, this is the message of the church. Sums it up well actually. :-\ :(
-
Yeah, how irritating. They left out "if you choose Him with your free will".
-
yep, there are tons of 'irritating bumper stickers' out there... Every time I see a "NOTW" or "Not Of This World" sticker [which seems to be at least once every time I get into my car], I can't help but hear Ray's voice saying, "OH REALLY?" ... Sometimes I'm so tempted to ask one of them, "Just out of curiosity, how EXACTLY are you 'not of this world'"?
...But so far I've been able to hold my tongue :D ;)

Bumper stickers can get you in trouble, especially if you forget which ones you've put on the bumper!

Cause I was Just flipped off,
By silver haired old lady,
With a honk if you love Jesus sticker on the bumper of her car.
I'll be singing that one all day to myself.
-
Stacey, The man really seems convinced as to what he is singing in the video. Maybe someone should direct him to Rays site... ;D
I can't imagine how ignorant I was when I was singing all those gospel songs too. :D ;)
-
The song is a joke. He's not convinced of anything.

I'm not a country fan; but I did find that song very entertaining. :D

It's already on my top ten list behind,
"Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer",
"Curly Shoffel",
"And that song about the bodily noises".

Sometimes I'm so tempted to ask one of them, "Just out of curiosity, how EXACTLY are you 'not of this world'"?
I have given them your word and the world hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. John 17:14
I always thought it would sound quite arrogant to unbelievers actually.
What about bumper fish. Do any of you have them? I still have one on my car from my fundie days. More than once have I been told what a "bad witness" I was when bending the speeding or parking laws a little. I've thought about removing it but after years of being attached to my bumper, the paint might come right off with it.

The only bumper sticker I ever owned was one that I had on the back of my truck that I used to own. It said,
"Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?"
The ironic part is at the time I had it [though I didn't realize it at the time, obviously] I myself was guilty of having a "closed mind"... oops! 8)

I think when we heal from where we've been, these things won't bother us anymore.

i used to have a fish symbol on my car, but, i took it off after learning that it was kinda silly really, not to mention quite carnal. now, i have one small sticker on my bumper, it reads "just be nice".

Speaking of country songs, how about James Otto's new one, "Shake What God Gave Ya!"? Maybe I'm old fashioned, but that's very irreverant to me. Again, it's just another way that people reduce God down to their level - kind of like when they call Him, "The Man Upstairs. It makes my blood boil!

As annoying as Christian bumper stickers can be, church signs really get on my nerves sometimes!
However, I was really surprised the other day to see this on a church sign:
"If God is your co-pilot, switch seats!"
Not bad, seeing that it came from a popular mainstream denomination.
-
I saw a bumper sticker years ago that said, " Carpenter from Nazareth seeks joiners."
And famously reported, typical rural England, a church notice,
" Don't kill yourself with worry, let the chuch help." !! ;D
-
Funny grapehound, the one about worry was on a church sign here in Kentucky not long ago and I posted it here!
In the 90's, I not only had the fish, but I had the Darwin fish being eaten by the Christian fish!! ::)
Me thinks Christians like to get people riled up. I used to... :-\

A lot of people were really mad at my bumper sticker a few years ago. Was driving through Bama with my sticker that said Nick Saban and Lou Holtz should be locked in a cage together and forced to listen to each others annoying banter. . . .and then be fed to lions.
-
god willed for this to happen. just let it be.
-
Oh, Musicman you just never give up, do you?! Hahahaha! Didn't you read what I wrote on another thread about the zombies?? They are coming for you, man!! Nick Saban is in chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhharrrrrrrge!! Why do you hate Lou Holtz? oh....wait is it because he used to coach your most hated team in the history of hate... I won't say the name because I don't want you to blow a gasket!!! ND?????? hehehehe!! Or do you just find him annoying, 'aight? HA!
Kathy ;)
-
Why???
is Lou doing ESPN commentary? First of all, he was a cheater when he coached. His ethics are in the toilet. And that lisp? He has a face for radio and a voice for . . . .news print. But with his ethics he shouldn't even be aloud to write. And his picks are terrible. I change the channel whenever he comes on. How can he be so popular?
-
Because people somehow LOVE cheaters?? ESPN is desperate?? I have to say you're right about the face and you know...people must just like losers?? I don't know.. this is a mystery!! Some very strange people have been popular...I think well...I just don't know?? You have hit on a mystery that I can't solve!!! Even with my special powers of investigation...I am without an answer!!! gasp!!! ;D
