Saw this film today and I liked it, made you think. I wondered what the spritual thoughts were of the person who wrote it. It should make people consider free will to be a myth.

So What are you saying, Craig?
Are we believers allowed to go to movies? :)
And what about parties?

Are we believers allowed to go to movies?
And what about parties?
Absolutely not, no movies, no parties
And no card playing
No drinking alchohol or soft drinks
No eating unclean meat
No dancing
No TV
No Christmas
No slacks for women
No listening to rock music
No studying science
No wearing tennis shoes or sneakers
No long hair for men
No uncovered heads for women
No birth control
No public school
No engaging with the opposite sex without a chaperone
No having fun
Now enough of that, lets get back to the movie.

Going to see it in about an hour from now. Husband is completely intrigued for the reasons you stated Craig.

I just got around to seeing it on DVD. It should get people thinking that free will is a direct conflict with 'The Chairman'.

I heard it was a good movie.
Is it streaming on netflix yet?
Blockbuster has .50cent rentals now. I might do that instead.

This cracked me up. :D From the UPC's point of view:
Are we believers allowed to go to movies?
And what about parties?
Check. Check.

No dancing
Check, unless it was the so-called "dancing in the Spirit."

Basically, 95% or so of that list was actually preached in the UPC.
I got a good laugh. Thanks, Craig.

A little late to the show but, my wife and I just got around to seeing this one on BluRay. We were thinking we might get to see the Chairman and who might be playing His part. I went with Morgan Freeman and my wife picked Anthony Hopkins. Either one would have been interesting. Anyway, we thought it was a pretty good movie.

Remember no one has heard his voice or seen him ;)

What about:
no lipstick
no jewelry
no sports (J.W.'s should be out "working"
no two piece bathing suits
no holding hands until married (or the first child which ever comes first)
no talking in the library! LOL
My father and mother both graduated from Moody Bible Institute and there was a NO HOLDING HANDS
policy. So Dad got a branch (stick) and they went around campus each holding an end of the stick.
Pretty rebellious, Huh?
Also, did you hear about the man that STREAKED at Bob Jones University?
He ran across campus WITHOUT his tie!!
-
Duane, that was really funny ;D. How many stripes in the LOF will the stick holders get as opposed to the streaker lol. Can you imagine the kids today going to that school with tongue rings, tatoos from top to bottom, and pants down to their knees. Keep it up Duane!

I wonder where the inspiration for this story actually came from. Is it based on a novel? Did the writer of this story actually ponder on these things? I thought it was a great movie.

"Chairman has a plan. We only see a part of it."
Liked the movie!
