following is a quote i read in one of the anne lamott books i was reading.  the quote is from c.s. lewis.

"no, there is no escape.  there is no heaven with a little hell in it.  no plan to retain this or that of the devil in our hearts or our pocket.  satan must go, ever hair and feather."

this statement reminded me of what God has been working out in my life, regarding, the beast of my flesh must die.  completely die.  buried with Christ.

Is that from his book "the great divorce"?  People tried to take "a little of their pet sin" into heaven...course they couldn't, but it is still one of my favorite books of his (well, after all The Chronicles of Narnia-remember I taught grade school for 30 years.ha)
