This is one of those controversial statements but I fully stand behind it.
Women should not have children after 35!
Some say, "Of course women can have children after 35!"
... ... They don't know what they are talking about and I can guarantee they have had very little experience in the matter.
I don't care what the doctor says.
I don't care what your friends say.
I don't even care what your pastor says.
Women should not have children after 35!
I don't advise it, I vehemently recommend against it,
and loudly and even at times rudely tell people "don't even consider it."
You can quote me on this. If you want to say that I said it. And I said it more than once.
"Women should not have children after 35!"
Some will send rude e-mails proclaiming the freedom of the womb but I still stand by what I said.
You may disagree with me, that's your right.
I still stand firm on the issue.
With most things I keep an open mind but not on this issue.
If I find an exception to this rule, then I will be open to change
but for now, it's firmly closed because I have never seen an exception.

This hits close to home. My Dad had a little sign hanging up in the house that said, "Happiness is....having a vasectomy!" Nine kids total in our family. And Priscilla, the woman who came to our house to take care of the kids while my folks worked, came from a family of 13; when her mom died, her dad remarried a woman who also had 13 children. Lucky for her dad, he owned a farm. How handy was that? lol)

Rarely would such a self righteos attitude be that overstated. Therefore I must admit, I was waiting for the punch line. And thankfully got it.

Of course that is a tad more difficult for a married man, but it sure works.

Well, it's a valuable learning experience. ::)
And truly it is nothing compared to what Lord Jesus suffered for us.
And it has given me empathy for the single men I know.
Tolerance, longsuffering, sacrificial love expecting nothing in return.
Helping with the house work with a smile. Brushing her hair for 30 minutes while watching TV. Letting the spirit remind me several times during a conversation to let my response fade away or just keep it to myself. Learning to be a better listener rather than a man who solves problems & fixes things.
Hey, the book says that I'm the leader, the example for her to observe, right?
So, if this is all I have to overcome, how better to illustrate real love.
Plus, I'm really not that pretty any more what with no hair and all the wrinkles and she is just as beautiful as ever.

bob, i just now read your last post response on this thread. the part which i have bolded above, completely made my heart smile. i especially am touched by the part which i have underlined. i'm not sure if you are meaning that you brush your wife's hair, or if your saying you watch her as she brushes her hair for 30 mins., but either way, i find it a very tender image.
