Title: Hebrews 3:11
Post by: Nickreading1984 on February 28, 2013, 10:45:49 AM
They shall NEVER enter my rest

Sounds like never to me. If anyone's getting annoyed with me, this is why I said I wanted a one-on-one. But, hey; I hope I don't wear out my welcome!

I would look at your translation.

It should be

They shall NOT enter into my rest

Hi Nick,

Like Craig that's just one, but most translations do not have the word 'never' in that verse.

I believe this is speaking of the Israelites entering the promise land, which they did not (save a very few) in their lifetime. A shadow of the world in this age, as the majority of mankind will not enter into God's rest or come to know God and the peace/rest of that in the lifetime as well.

mercy, peace and love
