I was reading your article on tithing and found it interesting. I would like to know why you did not include the new testament story of the widow who gave her last mite to the church and Jesus said she was great for what she done and she did not give out of abundance but of her last.

Dear Lisa:
This widow did not give her mite to the "church," but to the temple treasury and it had absolutely nothing to do with "tithing." The men also paid a "temple tax" every year, but it too had absolutely nothing to do with "tithing."
