Title: Do Angels Sing?
Post by: rrammfcitktturjsp on January 29, 2007, 12:30:14 PM
To All,

I know that there is no verse that says angels sing.  They always say what they are saying.  What do you all think?  I would like to think that they can sing.

  Sincerely,

Well they tell me I can't sing, but then again I'm no angel. ;)

I would like to think so, too, Anne.

I've heard it said that angels don't know the joy of salvation, so they can't sing. But many people also don't know that joy and yet they sing.

When I think about how wonderful it will be when all things are reconciled to God and we are all completed in His image, it seems inevitable that the angels will be happy enough to break into song. :)

Longhorn,

Carrie Underwood is an excellent singer.  I wish that I had watched that American Idol.

Hi all   I'M  back .......

I got this off google:

Angels Might Not Sing

There is a great deal of singing in the Bible. The Psalms mention singing often. Mark 14:26 and Matthew 26:30 record a time when Jesus and His apostles sang. The heavens and mountains “cry out” or “sing” in Isaiah 49:13, and even trees “sing” or “rejoice” in 1 Chronicles 16:33. (Note: different Hebrew words—ranan and rinnah—are used for the “singing” of inanimate objects, instead of shiyr and zamar—the words normally used for human singing in the Old Testament.)

Although there is a lot of singing going on, it is interesting that the Bible never states that angels sing. Yes, many Christmas songs have lyrics indicating that the angels sang when Jesus was born—and we suspect that angels have the ability to sing. Still, it is interesting that the Bible never actually reports that angels do sing.

By the way  thank you all for all your prayers for my aunts family xxx

Sandie,

So good to see you again.   ;D

Yes I too thought it was interesting that the Christmas carols say that the angels sing but the bible did not.  HMmmm
