Title: Prayer for God's will
Post by: Jackie Lee on March 13, 2007, 07:10:22 PM
Hi everyone I have a family member that needs God's will in her life.
She has been drifting around in confusion for about 7 years.
She admits most of her problems was from her own making.
I won't go into any details but she needs to know the will of God.
I told her today she has tried everything her way now it is time to ask God's will in her life.
She trys and act as if everything is ok to most people, but the truth is she is very confused with everything.
She is on a road to destruction if God don't intervene soon.
Just about everyone has turned their back on her, she needs God and his will now.
Please Pray for her. :'(

Hi Jackie,

I will pray for your family member. I know how hard it is to see someone we love headed for destruction and not being able to do anything to stop them from heading down that path. You said that everyone has turned their back on her- that may be just where God wants her. If you read the story of the prodigal son noone gave him anything and so he came to himself and thought that he would go to his work for his Dad as a hired servant. I wonder if people helped him out at that time if he would have came to himself and went back home. Just a thought. Sometimes we have to "Let go and Let God"! She is in my prayers nevertheless.

Good point Paula.  Jackie, I will pray for the Lord's will.  Don't worry, remember, God's in control.

Love in Him,

Dwight

Thanks everyone I agree God's will...... she has been doing things her way she realizes her life needs a change and now.
It is hard to give up what one wants themselves.
I think we have to come to this point of knowing our way is not right and how much better God's way is.
I really think she is getting to this point.

Thanks Anne, I really appreciate your prayers.
It can be difficult to know the right words to say.
At one point I felt God wanted me to stop praying for her when I believe now he wanted me to ask his will in her life.

Thanks Ches it is so hard for me to remember to pray like this but I know it is the right way.
A selfless prayer is so much better than a selfish prayer.

To All,

I would like to throw a wrench in this thread, by asking this question.  I believe Jesus may have prayed a bit of a selfish prayer, it being Father if it thy will, please let this cup pass from me.  He did end the prayer by saying Your will be done, but it makes me feel better than Jesus prayed that kind of prayer.  I do not think that God minds what we pray to him, just so that we keep the lines of communication open.  What do you all think?

I am still learning about prayer.

  Sincerely,
