Title: Anagrams
Post by: hillsbororiver on April 28, 2007, 12:34:37 PM

This has got to be one of the cleverest E-mails I've received in awhile. Someone out there either has too much spare time or is deadly at Scrabble. (Wait till you see the last one)!

Hopefully no one is offended by any of these;

DORMITORY:
When you rearrange the letters:
DIRTY ROOM

PRESBYTERIAN:
When you rearrange the letters:
BEST IN PRAYER (I find this dubious, but clever)

ASTRONOMER:
When you rearrange the letters:
MOON STARER

DESPERATION:
When you rearrange the letters:
A ROPE ENDS IT

THE EYES:
When you rearrange the letters:
THEY SEE

GEORGE BUSH:
When you rearrange the letters:
HE BUGS GORE

THE MORSE CODE:
When you rearrange the letters:
HERE COME DOTS

SLOT MACHINES:
When you rearrange the letters:
CASH LOST IN ME

ANIMOSITY:
When you rearrange the letters:
IS NO AMITY

ELECTION RESULTS:
When you rearrange the letters:
LIES - LET'S RECOUNT

SNOOZE ALARMS:
When you rearrange the letters:
ALAS! NO MORE Z 'S

A DECIMAL POINT:
When you rearrange the letters:
IM A DOT IN PLACE

THE EARTHQUAKES:
When you rearrange the letters:
THAT QUEER SHAKE

ELEVEN PLUS TWO:
When you rearrange the letters:
TWELVE PLUS ONE

AND FOR THE GRAND FINALE:

MOTHER-IN-LAW:
When you rearrange the letters:
WOMAN HITLER

Yep! Someone with waaaaaaaaaaay
Too much time on their hands! (Probably a son-in-law).

A few more;

Heavy Rain: Hire a Navy

Statue of Liberty: Built to Stay Free

Clint Eastwood: Old West Action

Thank you Gena, Arcturus, Iris & Susan for the responses, I am happy to see you enjoyed these anagrams.

Nelson, I got the first one (Hillsbororiver) fairly easy but the second one has given me fits, I have found many words out of those 16 letters but none of the phrases fit together very well here are a few examples;

A eerie elf for kiss, a eerie self of risk, a sleeker offer is I, release Fife or ski, freakier soil fees, leakier Fife roses, I risk for lease fee, easel fork fee Iris, for leases fee I irk, eraser fee folk is I, if eraser leaks of I.......... see what I am saying?  ???

There are many more but I give up, can you help a brother out here?

His Peace to you,

Joe

Can't help you out on the Nelson puzzle however, my brain just doesn't work that way!

Good luck figuring it out!

Peace,

Thank you Susan, and thanks for the encouragement Diana!

Bursting a blood vessel was a distinct possibility all the while knowing the answer was going to slap me right in the face once I saw it.

Nelson your clue was right on the money but my mind took a detour into the abyss.

Thanks all,

Joe

Hi folks,

Well done Susan!

The Hebrews loved riddles and puzzles. Seems they liked to cheat to get them right though, just ask Samson  :D

I'm going through the Lake of Fire Series again. What has occurred to me is how new things are there and the words of Christ come to mind,

Unless we're going to receive a 'Damascus Road' experience I feel that we experience the truth afresh at appointed times. The Word reveals a deeper understanding as we can bear it and we grow and mature in Christ.

God bless you all  :)

Love, grace and peace to you

Nelson

There was a time many, many years ago that would have been an apt description of me.  ;)

Thank God He has pulled me out of that!

Hi Darren,

You got the ball rolling with yours (as well as an interesting one for me) unfortunately the other moderators have too few letters in their screen names to do anything with, except for Dennis....

Dennis Vogel: loving dense, vino legends, need solving, novel design, sold even gin

Hillsbororiver: ill vibes horror, broil or shrivel, shrill bio rover.

A few more for you;

Yellowstone: only two eels, to sew lonely, went loosely

         :D

Peace Brother,

Joe

Found these on another website

Evangelist = Evil's Agent

To be or not to be: that is the question, whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. =
In one of the Bard's best-thought-of tragedies, our insistent hero, Hamlet, queries on two fronts about how life turns rotten.
