Title: Mark 16:15-16
Post by: Paul on April 26, 2008, 05:36:01 PM
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Fundamentalists believe even if you've never heard of Jesus Christ, you're damned, but this verse seems to prove that only those who've had the gospel preached to them become at risk for being "damned"...

It's because of the first part, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Jesus seems to be saying "Go and preach the gospel to everyone, and anyone who doesn't believe you will be damned", not "anyone who's never even heard the gospel will be damned".

First of all, damned means the same as to be judged (it might be the same word, don't know for sure).  All those that don't believe the truths of God (and of course live by them) will be judged.  This includes those Africans who have never heard of Christ.  Sure, their spiritual lashes won't be as many as the real evil doers.  But they must be perged of what they are spiritually lacking.  So when you think about the damned and those facing judgement, just ignore the idiotic church teachings because they will get you no where.  Besides, Babyon's churchians haven't heard of Christ either (at least not the real one).

Peace, my friend.
