Just wanted to let my forum family know that my mom has died this morning. She has had Alzheimers and was in a nursing home for a year. We are sad, but glad her ordeal is over.
I pray I can be of some use during the next few days of family, viewing, and funeral.
I can't stand everyone saying "she is in a better place, seeing all her loved ones, w/ Jesus, etc etc". Hope I know when to speak and when to keep silent.
Thank you all for your prayers and love at this time!

:'( I will have you in my prayers during this trying time for you. I think it would be hard for me to keep silent to when I would have to hear all that.

Gena, thanks for letting us know.
Keep the Faith, and seek His guidance.
I spoke up with my actions, not words, and went outside when a poem was passed around to the family about the deceased hunting and fishing in heaven. I was confronted; and of course my "smart" mouth asked about how the animals must feel about being killed in that heaven. ::)
It got more ugly at that point.
-
Gena,
Praying for Comfort & Wisdom as you will miss your Mom. We are here for you, a safe place!
Gentle Hugs,
Brenda

Dear Gena,
My deepest Sympathy for the loss of your Mother. I know of what you are saying in regards to the expected responses from Family members, forgive them, for they know not what they say.
Also, just a suggestion, if I may, perhaps you might respond by saying: It's nice to know that eventually, ALL of us will be with her, as God has planned and according to his Will, because he Loves her, just like he Loves ALL of us.
Sorry, if thats not what you wanted to hear, but sometimes when a Loved one dies and we attend their Funeral, others may say things we don't want to hear.
May the peace of God that excels all thought, guard your heart and mind during this Sad time.
In Gods Love, Samson.

Hi Gena,
I was just thinking about you and your mother last night. My condolences to you and your family.
We are at least blessed to know the truth of the state of the dead which should be of some comfort to you at this time, although we still grieve from the loss of that person in our lives in this life time.
You are blessed to have Jerry to lean on and he on you. I pray that you both will to be a "light" to your other family members.

I'm sorry for your loss Gena.
I find so much peace in Ray's teaching on death. I didn't have those lessons when my father died. It's still very hard to lose our parents.
Lots of hugs and prayers.

Gena,
So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in April and although it was very tough keeping my mouth shut, I did it successfully. :-X
I think it made a difficult time much easier for all concerned in my case.
I not only disagreed with my BIL's funeral "sermon" but with my sister's prayer at the closing and with the thank you notes she wrote for all of us to sign! :o ::)
May you find added peace to get you through and I will say this. If God leads you to speak, DO SO!
Everyone's experience and situation is unique to them.
Bless you!

Hi Gena,
Been there with my Mom and also dealing with the comments that were intended to soothe at the wake and funeral.
Dear Sister at least now you have the wisdom from above on where she is (sleeping) as well as knowing some day she will be with you and us in an immortal, incorruptable body.
Praise God!
His Peace, Wisdom and Comfort to you, Jerry and your entire family,
Joe

dear gena,
i am so sorry to hear that your momma passed away. i have thought of you often since the conference as even then you awaited the dreaded phone call from your sister about your momma. as others on this forum have said, take heart in knowing the truth of God's scriptures regarding the sleep which your mother now sleeps. my daddy also died from alzheimers disease complications and i agree it is a terrible terrible disease. my family's consolation was that his suffering on this earth was finished. i too did not know God's Truth about death when my daddy died, but i know it now thanks be to God through His servant ray smith. lean on Him during the days ahead and lean also on your lovely jerry. take comfort in knowing the Truth and in knowing that jerry shares your Knowledge. i pray that you and your sisters will grow closer during this time, as i know you have a concern about this. i will keep you and jerry and your family in my prayers. please let us on the forum know how you are doing.
love in Him,
claudia

Thank you for your kind words, all of you. Your love is felt for sure.
Just got back and I did mention a few things on Beloved's birthday post for me.
It was actually a nice service. My mom even looked like my mom!! A neighbor is a retired United Methodist pastor and she gave the service. Very generic, hopeful, and uplifting. (No 'she's up there fishing' or anything like that!). I was able to tell a few relatives that she is actually quite dead but will rise at the great resurrection.
My sister was concerned that I thought my mom was going to hell. So I assured her that I DID NOT think that, and that we would all be together again at the Great White Throne. I sort of left it at that. All in all I am glad it is over but it was good to see relatives and reminescing (sp?) about old times. One aunt wants to know more, so I am sending her some of Ray's papers.
Again, thank you for your prayers and love. It is so good to be back home and on the forum!!

Gena,
So happy it went so well.
I just love watching God's protection for us when we have to deal with these things.
Bless you, Lin
