Hayley, I certainly hope for a better end to this thing than a uniting of the major monotheistic religions. Individuals can accelerate this end in themselves by leaving the churches, synagogues and mosques. Everyone WILL praise the LORD...but He's not the lord of religions.
Do 'we' all have the same God? In one sense, no because we don't all know God--just his likeness in our minds. We just think we do. In another sense, yes--the god of self, lies, and carnal tradition. In another sense, YES, because He is operating ALL in ALL after the councel of His own will. He's forming every vessel for it's own temporary use.
Eph 4:4-6 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
One day God will be ALL in ALL, not simply above, through and in. That's the end I'm hoping for.
At the moment, there is one advantage to being "christian" just as there was one in being "Jewish" in the first century. We have the Oracles of God--the Holy Scriptures. That still doesn't help us any more than it did them if we are still blind to spiritual Truths and faithless.
