God at work
« on: February 14, 2010, 12:17:26 PM »

Here's what God did for me last week. I'm a housekeeper for a couple that own several health clubs. I've worked at their house 3 days a week for nearly 10 years. I also clean their clubs with the help of  a really nice Mexican lady named Rosie. About three weeks before Christmas my boss told me he had to save money ( funny they were still spending like crazy) and that he wanted me to fire my helper. He wanted me to cut my hours at his house and make it up with Rosie's hours at the clubs. I was really upset about that because I know Rosie needs the money as badly as I ( probably more) :(. After thinking on it for a couple hours I came up with a plan. I told him that I couldn't, in good conscience, fire Rosie and that business was probably going to get better in January anyway ( it always did).
So... I was going to cut my hours on Fridays from 10 to 7 and only come that day every other week. That was going to save him ( and cost me, ouch) 400$ a month. Before you think of me to highly, I have to explain. My boss pays me a certain amount to clean the clubs and since I don't have the time to do it all I subcontract. So for every hour that Rosie works I get payed some too. Anyway, last week he told me they had another bad month and not to come on Fridays anymore at all, another 200$ less ( hm,they went on a ski trip in January and are gambling in Vegas as we speak ???). Well... When I called Roy, he said not to worry, God would provide. I called another lady that I clean for and asked If she knew of anybody needing a housekeeper one day a week. She said, she would ask some of her friends. I was working for her the next day and found a note. It was a printout of an e-mail to a friend praising my work and her ( friend) reply. She said she had been looking for somebody and that I'm an answer to her prayers ::)...gosh...I called the phone number and was hired without even meeting her. We set an appointment for me to view the house the next day after work. In the morning I told my bosses wife that I would be ok because God already provided another job for me.When I told her who the new lady was she got upset. Come to find out the new couple are their landlords on one of the clubs (building) and she was afraid they could find out (through me) that their business is in trouble. When I saw my boss that afternoon he seemed upset that I replaced them that quickly. A little later I met my new client (her house will take me most of the day to clean, big). She was so excited to have me, she kept on thanking me and even hugged me. I told her:" No really, thank YOU for giving me a job ::)" I was so baffled by the events of those days. One day I feel rejected ( yea they told me I was like family to them and they would make cuts elsewhere before they would mess with my hours) and worried about not having enough money and the God turns it around in less than 24 hours. They are the ones being hurt. God is so good and definitely has a sense of humor ;D ;D ;D
