Mourning, wow, what an absolute must, that takes place in believers. We can do nothing in ourselves and there is noone who does good, no not one. We all go the way of self and this world into which we were born. We get caught up into and are carried away into these delusions.
It's no wonder why we must be born again. Before we are born again, something must die. There is no way around those words, no escaping it. That death, when we are crucified with Christ is just like this:
(2Ch 24:20) And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood before the people and said to them, So says God, Why do you transgress the commandments of Jehovah, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken Jehovah, He has forsaken you.
We are no different than these people and this brings about serious mourning, albeit for our own good.
(Isa 49:13) Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; break out into singing, O mountains. For Jehovah has comforted His people and will have pity on His afflicted.
(Isa 49:14) But Zion said, Jehovah has forsaken me, and, My Lord has forgotten me.
(Isa 49:15) Can a woman forget her suckling child, from pitying the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will surely not forget you.
(Isa 49:16) Behold, I have carved you on the palms of My hands; your walls are always before Me.
(Isa 62:4) You no longer shall be called Forsaken; nor shall your land any longer be called Desolate. But you shall be called, My Delight is in Her; and your land, Married. For Jehovah delights in you, and your land is married.
Here comes the good part, why we are no longer forsaken. It is because we trust in the Rock of our Salvation:
(Mat 27:46) And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani; that is, "My God, My God, why did You forsake Me?" Psa. 22:1
An innocent One has paid the penalty for our sins. The ones who see no sin, or the ones who can't see there is nothing we can do, who do not mourn, but it is the ones who have been healed by this Innocent One, who now see, hence the true mourning. All of God serves a purpose.
God bless,
Gary
