Hi Tee,
Welcome to the forum!
I will pray for you and your family. I know it must be very difficult for you to believe differently from the rest of your family, and you must feel very alone.
Although I don't have children at home anymore, noone in my family believes as I do, and it was at one time causing me anxiety.
I would like to share a Scripture with you which has released me from those anxieties.
Prov 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
This verse is telling me that I am not responsible for my families salvation. He alone is. And, as much as I love them, He loves them even more.
The Greek word translated "trust", means, according to the Greek Lexicon,
"to attach oneself, to trust, confide in, feel safe, be confident, secure, to be careless (without care). This type of hope is a confident expectation, not a constant anxiety. We can truly relax when we know Who is in control."
Also the Hebrew word translated "lean" means, according to the Lexicon, "to support oneself, to lean against, to rely on, to place confidence in."
So I try not to rely on or put confidence in what I think is happening on my family's lives, nor do I put any confidence in myself to make them understand the truth. But I trust Him to bring them to Him at just the right time and in just the right way. Because I do not understand what He is doing (or how He is doing it) I must trust in Him.
My job? "...in all your ways acknowledge Him...".Live my life as a follower of Christ.
Of course, it is easy to say these things, but not always easy to do them. And , of course, sometimes, I fail. That's why I keep reading and studying this scripture, and praying to God to help me to trust in Him .
Don't know if this will make any sense to you, but this has helped me, knowing that it is all in His hands. Knowing that my families salvation is not dependent on anything I say or do, but is totally within God's control has freed me to just try to be the best wife, mother, etc. as a Christian, and let God take care of the rest.
with Christian love,
Cindy
