silly churches with their catchy phrases
« on: April 01, 2008, 03:29:24 AM »

i was driving with down the road yesterday and drove past a church which had this catchy little phrase on the church markee outside,
"exposure to the Son will prevent you from burning".  i laughed at the ridiculousness of the statement but then remembered how so many many churches do this. babylon loves her catchy phrases. i read a billboard along a highway once that was written with God at the bottom of the statement "pretending" it was from God Himself, it read "if you are going to swear, use your own name".  the billboard was sponsored by a church group (per the billboard).  that one blew me away because in the scriptures we are told to swear by nothing at all.  why didn't the church put the true scripture up there? i guess the actual words of God weren't "catchy" enough.

i love God,
claudia

You know, what you just said made me realise just how badly  the church is deceived and just how much they hate God.

Saying His name or the name of His son is a tad amount to swearing!

Not only do these catch phrase show their warped mentality , it has led to a slew of "church blooper" that also are demeaning to God and the church.

Here In TN I also notice that now in the suburbs and country, they are going in for these colorful and animated Digital signs, trying to entice people to come have "fun" now. I would imagine that the mega churches really go in for these.....draw in more money.

Just another example of their worldly trappings.

My old Churches mantra was "I got saved, you can get saved too", like it had nothing at all to do with Christ. When I started to see the truth, I often wondered to myself "if all thse people managed to save themselves, why did Christ bother going through the physical ordeal of being crucified, why  didn;t he come along and say "Ok everyone, all you got to do is say this short prayer, get yourselves wet from head to toe while a pastor says a few religious words over you, and thats it....ok I'm off back to heaven now, its all up to you".  ::)
We all need to remember though, its very easy to look at what they do and scoff or make fun, but we were all there.

Well, I realize that I once bought in to all of that stuff.   But one thing I always struggled with in the past was "It depends on you"

Logically,  if it depends on me, then I sure don't need Jesus dragging me down with a bunch of requirements.

those were great. i especially liked the last pictured phrase that said, don't make me come down there.  the one's on the sites you noted were also funny. i wonder who comes up with these phrases. i'm glad to finally know the truths behind the madness which is babylon and i am thankful to have been led out.  yes, we were all there to some extent before, but thank God we aren't there anymore.

cheers,

This is hilarious. I particularly like the middle one, how they signed it off with "God". I checked my Bibles and there's no mention of wal-mart in any of them  ;D Do Catholics always spell so badly? "SAVEING"........
