Hello Everyone,
Couple of questions:
1). When exactly is His blood applied, and HOW is His blood applied?
2). Is celebrating ones birthday participating somehow in a pagan ritual??
Mother's Day?
Father's Day?
Thanks for listening and I look forward to many discussions.
Hooahh
Hi Mike,
I have often heard that we are to apply the blood of Christ to our lives, but the question always arises, how? I have looked through Scripture, and found there really is no clue as to how. A good friend of mine told me that when you don't know what to do, do what you know to do.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.[/u] (1 John 1:6-7)
The thing is Mike, we cannot do it ourselves, because all things are of God. You just keep doing what you 'know' to do, and let God take care of the rest. Hope this helps a little.
In regard to birthdays, holidays, etc., I can only go on what the Scriptures say.
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. (Rom. 14:5)Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: (Col. 2:16)I know that Christmas and Easter rose from pagan holidays, but you must be persuaded in your own mind. As believers we have a liberty in Christ. I personally have never heard anyone say they were celebrating a pagan holiday when they celebrate Christmas. The important thing to remember is to not judge others for celebrating these holidays. (Rom. 14:6-10) I do celebrate Christmas, because it is important to my wife, and I do not want to cause discord among my family. I don't know if this will help you much, but you can take it however you want.
Your Brother,
Brian W.
