Interesting thread.  All great points.  Seems consensus is that EXCESS is the key.  A wine or beer might not hurt me, but it may someone else...when you are younger you don't know if you have that "gene" that predisposes you to alcholhlism (sp). Paul prescribed a little wine for your stomachs sake.

 We have earthly wisdom, a conscience, the Word, and the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the community of saints (BT forum) to help us make informed decisions.  There is no condemnation and no legalities.
