Only the 64-bit versions go beyond 4GB of RAM.

Personally, I'm waiting on Service Pack 1 before going to Windows 7. I use Vista Professional, Service Pack 2, and it's been working fine. The main thing with these different versions from Microsoft is making sure your existing hardware and software programs are compatible and also if they have updates to make them work better on Vista/7.

Everything works great with XP except my memory issue. I'm afraid to upgrade, not looking forward to finding updates for all my software!!

Actually OS2 Warp is much more stable than all windows operating systems, before the howl goes up, i do use Win Vista Ultimate and Win Xp Pro 32 bit, both are adequate for the type of computing of most home users.

Yes Vista and Win 7 64 bit will address more than 8GB of Ram, problem is so few programs to run on 64 bit machines and expensive too.

Antaiwan, you probably have some program/s that are leaking memory, or a failing Ram module.

How do you fix a leaking memory???  I think I have that (me....not my computer ;) )
