Living the Book Of Revelation?
« on: September 08, 2010, 07:54:06 PM »

The following are excerpts (in blue) from one of Ray's lessons (bold emphasis mine) has lead me to a question.

How Hard is Getting Saved? . . . . . . . Nashville Conference 2005
http://forums.bible-truths.com/index.php/topic,3849.0.html

ďRevelation 1:3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein.

If youíre going to call upon the name of the Lord, you have to do what the Lord says.  In John we read that if youíre going to call upon the name of the Lord youíve got to believe the testimony that His Father gave concerning Him.  Revelation says, this is that testimony - 22 chapters.

John was so sad when they were going to open the seals of this book.  Why was he so sad?  Why would John be so sad about that?

Revelation 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
v. 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
v. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

Why would he cry?  Whatís so important about these seals that John would weep like a child?  Because he just wrote, youíve got to keep whatís in there!  Now we canít even open them.  Thatís a catch-22, Iíve got to do what it says, but I donít know what it says!  Who can open this up?  The Son of God, He can.  This is His testimony, He knows how to open it.  So He opens up the seven seals... then thereís seven trumpets... then thereís seven plagues.Ē

Then later ....

ďItís not talking about physical chronology or eschatology of the chronological order of events leading up to the return of Christ.  This is for us, weíve got to keep this.  How do you keep the darkness?  How do you keep ďeverything in the sea diesĒ?  How do you keep that?  You have to know what it means... itís a symbol.  Heís signified this book in symbols.  Why?  So nobody on earth would ever understand it, except the very Elect.

You canít understand this book.  Scholars have poured over this for millions of hours.  They cannot understand this book.  This book is SPIRITUAL, these are spiritual words, these are symbols.  They are all the same.  Itís not as hard as we thought when Godís opens it up, it takes on a simplicity.

These mountains, what are mountains?  These are mountains in our life, not mountains over there in the Rocky mountain chain.  These are mountains - HUGE things in our life that have to come down!

The sea is the flesh - humanity.  Everything in the sea has to die!  This isnít talking about killing fish in the Indian Ocean.  Of what value is it to kill the fish in the Indian Ocean?

This is for us, the people who have the testimony of Jesus Christ have to live all this stuff.  What is it?  ITíS ALL ONE!  Itís just like the parables and all of those other things... tree of good and evil, the 5 wise and 5 foolish, the tares and the wheat and every parable and every teaching.  Itís all ONE!  Directed toward us!  All these things, the Old Testament, itís all for US!Ē

And next .....

ďAll these things take a lifetime.  Weíre going to live "the seals."  A third part of the man died... thatís a third part of the man in us that is going to die, a third part of the carnality.  God works in increments, He wipes out some of the trees and then He burns some of the grassÖ what is the trees and the grass?  These are all things in us. We have islands, and mountains, and trees, and grass. All of these are belief systems and ideas and doctrines and philosophies of life and all these things. And they are all going to be burned out and broken down and destroyed. All of those seven seals, seven trumpets, seven plagues, they are all things that must happen in our lives

Now I know interpreting the Book Of Revelation was not the topic of his lesson so I did not expect much detail on it.  But has Ray ever gone into detail on all of the symbols in this book and how we are to live this book?  Seems like important stuff!

Also, you can do a search in the 'Emails from Ray' section for little things here and there. But, as far as a complete, detailed teaching on this subject, Ray does not have a study on it.

Too bad because with Ray's insight it would be a fascinating study.
Maybe someday.

Thanks,

Ps119:160 The SUM of Your Word is Truth

Luk 4:4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY Word of God.

When we realise the need that we accept, adhere to, abide in, apply and accomplish, that we must live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, only then can we see that the SYMBOLS, are Spiritual, the ANALOGIES are Spiritual and the PARABLES are Spiritual and that the things that physical ears can't hear and physical eyes can't see, are the deep things of God revealed to us. 1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God ~ is also within us ~ The Kingdom of God is within.
