Why did God cause in his plan, for so many people to be deceived by the church?
Marky Mark:
--- Quote ---When I first discovered BT and Ray's teachings, I was dumbfounded. I was so amazed at how Ray was destroying all the doctrines of my [former] church, with the very same book that it claimed to teach and believe in! As I "watched" him expose hell, free will, trinity, rapture, etc, etc... It made me start thinking, "gosh, is ANYTHING that my church taught true? I mean, they can't be wrong about everything, could they?" So after reading all of Ray's teachings, I become eager to know if what I had discovered [in his teaching] were true.
So I began searching, studying, praying. I downloaded eSword, and any other freebie program I could find [cuz I'm broke. :D Though I did purchase the Rotherham's translation.] I wanted to know "is there ANYTHING that the church teaches that is Scripturally true?" So far, I haven't found one thing, really... I mean, some things they say they believe are true, but when you dig into their beliefs you find they don't really believe what they say they do. [example: Did Jesus "die" for our sins? Church says yes, but then, did Jesus really "die" for 3 days? Church says no, He went to Hades and preached...]
The point that I wanted to make is that it was this burning curiosity that really got me going, and continues to push me to study and seek God and Truth. Perhaps if the Church wasn't so deceived and there were many more people in the world who really DO LOVE GOD AND WANT TRUTH, then I wouldn't have the thirst for Him that I do?

I still fight this all the time even though I now know better. I still use the word allow at times and it comes out of my mouth before I even realize what I said. From the strictly carnal human standpoint most men know that God is good and God is holy (even though we aren't) so naturally we wonder why God 'allows' this evil or that evil and the churches would have their parishioners convinced of a grand struggle between God and Satan battling over the souls of men and of course because man has a 'free' will most won't make the grade and will be eternally lost. This is pretty much boilerplate no matter what daughter of Babylon from the christian church a sect is from. There is so much erroneous teaching to overcome and it takes time and the fires of God in our spirits to show us these things. We weren't deceived overnight and reversing all the deception doesn't happen overnight either.
--- Quote from: Kat on September 23, 2010, 09:58:54 AM --- Of course I had been seeking truth all my years in the church, and we all know now that is to no avail. But it seems that as soon as I found the BT site I felt very compelled to study this truth as much as possible. I did not join the forum for a while,

I lurked here for over two years before I even entertained the idea of joining the forum. I was so green on things I just didn't even feel that I had any worthy questions let alone ever having something to share in God's truths that might be helpful to someone else. Coming across the truths we find here is a blinding light to a man living in a dark cave all his life and it was like learning to walk or how to tie my shoes as a small child all over again.

I have a question for you guys that is kind of related to Daywalkers response...
Before finding BT I was not very religious, but now after knowing what is true I cannot deny this work that Ray has done, I have studied more in the last couple of months than the rest of my life. Its alot easier reading the bible than it was before! I feel "DRAGGED" here and I cant leave knowing what I know. I can't escape GOD and what he wants me to learn. Not that I want to leave at all! I do not know if anyone else has had a similar experience.
--- End quote ---
Yep, I sure have. In fact, I've even had a few occasions where I actually DID TRY to "walk away"; not that I wanted to 'forget' all I learned, but I was just tired and frustrated [and even a lil angry at God for certain reasons...] BUT after a few days of me 'wondering', He dragged me back! :D ;D I believe it's just part of His process of destroying my carnal beastly nature, and conforming me to His Will for my life.

Yea, good point Mark. I should have left out "for 3 days"... In my own defense, I was typing quickly as I was getting ready to leave my house for a while, so I didn't proof read my post as I normally do, or perhaps I would've noticed that ??? Thanks though.

Thanks guys all this really helps me out.
I know I have probably jumped the gun by joining the forum in my early stages but I had too. I had to do it ;D.
I tend to get deep in my thoughts but will try not to ask questions I should already know. And most importantly I want to keep a happy friendly atmosphere so please tell me if I am ever out-of-line or not rightfully contributing, or am in the way.

Dan,
On the contrary! Do ask... always! No matter how 'lame' or 'obvious' it may seem to you, ask! The worst thing you could do during this 'spiritual-transition' is to hide away in a dark cave somewhere when you have brothers and sisters here who are ready and willing to help you. Besides, your words help all of us just as much as any of ours may help me... Trust me.
