How can you worship or even like a god who creates evil? I don't like him.

Dear Allysn:
Growing up in a Christian indoctrinated nation, it is only natural that most
people feel as you do and don't even believe that the fact that God does
create evil is even in the Bible (it is--Isa. 45:7, Gen. 2:16-17, etc.). The
main problem, however, is that you fail to understand what evil is and how
God uses it. Evil is NOT, for example, a sin on God's part. Evil is used
to produce righteousness. That why we teach our children to not run into
the street without looking first, or touching a hot stove, etc. I understand
your frustration, but there is a reason for what is at present a difficult thing
for you to understand.
