*** Important: Drinking and Driving ***

, and another reason to remain safe.
This is a very important message and it may help save a life or two!

I would like to share an experience with you about drinking and driving.
As you well know, some of us have been lucky not to have had brushes with
the authorities on our way home from the various holiday social gatherings
over the years.

A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends
and had a few too many beers and then topped it off with a margarita.
Not a good idea.

Knowing full well I was at least slightly over the limit, I did something
I've never done before: I took a taxi home.

Sure enough I passed a police road block but because it was a taxi,
they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise.

I have never driven a taxi before and I'm not sure where I got it.

GodISGracious
You're right. Truth be told, I have never been a real drinker.
I'll occasionally have one beer and in the company friends, no more than two for the night.
Apart from that, a glass of red wine on special occasions....

except for that time years ago, after being jilted by my then fiancee, when I had 28 screwdrivers in one night. The last 7 or 10 were without ice (and probably hic, without orange juice:) Needless to say the resultant, cataclysmic hangover cured me of drinking forever.

Ok, so This person walks out of a club intoxicated, calls a taxi to get home - says to the taxi driver ; have you got room in the trunk for a case of beer and a pizza - taxi driver replys "yes" - intoxicated person lifts the trunk and barfs in it! :)
