Putting on the full armour of God to engage in Spiritual warfare

--- Quote ---For myself I would suggest that since you noted that you are new to this way of thinking.
Perhaps you should stand as an observer and not as a participant in correcting others. e.g be a good listener/observer.
God is very patient and understanding, so your option may be to view your personal place in the battle as that of one in basic training rather than as as soldier on the front lines, before your training is complete.

Indianabob, I hope that I have not given the impression that I know it all. I don't recall correcting anyone in that spirit and would loathe to have to re-read all the past threads to find out. :)  Ofcourse I'm relatively new to this way of thinking but some of the truths were revealed to me before coming to BT and I do feel strongly about them :(  I must confess though that I have not yet studied all of Ray's teachings and I actively engage in this online fellowship, desirous to learn, debating and discussing biblical truths but open to correction myself.  I do appreciate the patience and kindness shown by the elders in this church, in teaching me and leading me in the truth.  In the absence of real fellowship, this is also the only place where I can express myself and be understood.

So help me God if I have to shut up and learn! :)

loretta, you are an awesome sister in Christ, and i am thankful God has caused you to become part of this forum.  your questions are very thought provoking causing me to read and study more of His Word.  you are a welcome voice in this choir of believers.

no need to shut your mouth.  just let it all out.  yes, many times we have to be vulnerable by showing up and letting ourselves be heard in this life.  that alone takes courage.  we are here to help each other get through this world of trouble and confusion.  God's Spirit is our Helper.  how wonderful is that knowledge?!!

Tks for the vote of confidence, Claudia.  Much appreciated!

--- Quote ---I think one thing most of us on this forum have in common is a hatred for injustice. But isn't injustice part of God's plan?
--- End quote ---

You’re right, Dennis, its all part of God’s plan, for us to come to hate injustice not as the world does, but according to God’s standard of righteousness.

Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

--- Quote ---Sounds like you both may have been suffering from an acute case of the spirit of fear and an unsound mind.
--- End quote ---

Exactly Nathan, that’s why I typed missionary in italics.:)  Now I’m wondering what that dream was all about.  If God had intended for me to be physically hurt, then why would he warn me through dreams.  Even though nothing has come to pass, so far, it is obvious that their prayers did not change the will of God.   Tks also for Kat’s post. It’s all about Christ.  I need to ruminate on this some more.

--- Quote ---So the truth is that we continue to wrestle and do battle with them -- it is good for us to do so, it MAKES US STRONG in the TRUTH and in our reliance of God's spiritual armor to protect us.
--- End quote ---

Tks for this link Kat, so simple, yet so profound.  An AHA moment. I believe I know this truth experientially.

--- Quote ---The biggest motivator in the modern church is fear. Fear of the Devil, hell, missing out on the glory, of being rejected. But perfect love (or truth) casts out all fear.
--- End quote ---

For the first time since coming to BT, I am beginning to understand that perfect love (or truth) does cast out all fear. And it is sweet freedom indeed. Yes, I can share this with my friend, and I can even see a glimmer of hope for her in the casting down of the high place in her life. Tks Greg.

Thank you ALL
