UN panel confronts Vatican on child sex abuse by clergy
« on: January 16, 2014, 09:35:08 AM »

The Vatican is being confronted publicly for the first time over the sexual abuse of children by clergy, at a UN hearing in Geneva. Amid the shake-up launched by Pope Francis in the 10 months since he took office, rights groups also see the hearing as an occasion that could shed light on the pontiff’s approach to dealing with the clerical abuse scandal.  Pope Francis had announced last month the creation of a new committee to tackle clerical abuse but has so far said little on the scandal that rocked the Roman Catholic Church around the world.

There all an odd bunch. I will let God's word speak for itself on this one:

Rom 16:17  I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.
Rom 16:18  For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.

2Ti 4:3  For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
2Ti 4:4  and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

Col 2:8  See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

1Ti 4:1  Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

2Co 11:13  For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14  And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2Co 11:15  So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

Very true Rhys, for both the Vatican and the UN.

Wonder whether justice will be served in the end. :(
