An opposing Spirit.

[Miranda_78]

Hey all,

I live next to a family across our street and, there is a man who is showing in every possible way, spiritually and physically that he is against any belief in Christ. He seems to be an Wiccan/idolised. I confirm that he is a liar and a deceiver from what i have heard and seen his kind of spirit. He has very well observed me and heard me in my home as i used to sing hymnals with my guitar. (Loudly) must i add, ..and maybe it was my fault for singing- Now, he feels the need to stalk, harass, and try to deceive me and try and get my attention in every way. It Is a very difficult spirit.  My spiritual life is attacked in my home.
Can anyone give any Bible verses on these difficul situations.

P.S I can't move out of my home

Thank You all, and God bless.

[Wittenberg]

Miranda, sound like you're going through a tough time. Sorry
There are tons of bible verses that can give you comfort. But none of them mean anything if you don't believe that God is in total control of everything. Total.
That means that God is causing your neighbor to be creepy to you and He caused every bad thing that has happened to you ever. It's counter intuitive, but when you truly except that the way you have been viewing the world has been wrong, and that only God makes decisions, your neighbor and every other problem in life will go away. These problems will become blessings. They already are blessings, you just don't view them that way.
"Consider it true joy Brothers when you face trials of everykind." James 1

Praying, in Christ

Hi,

Sounds similar to my situation - I'm in the midst of locusts at my job.
Probably yours is more unpleasant than mine but like you,I also can't leave my job..for now.

Opponents are good for us,who are the elect, they make us grow.Imagine playing a sport without any opponents -- you wouldn't know your strengths and weaknesses or improvements that need to be implemented in your spiritual performances during every match you play.Thank God for your opponent,I believe at the end of the match you will win.

Another match i'm involved in currently:This opponent I live with is doing things that are annoying. The opponent goes to church and gets all sorts of junk(holy water, holy salt) and thinks that will help in getting closer to God.The opponent recently put holy salt inside my bedsheets--that was irritating.Like you, cannot move out of this home...for now though.

That neighbor of yours and my opponents are mountains to us,the elect, and I thank God for your mountains and mine and every other believer in Jesus, because these mountains WILL MAKE US RICH.

It may be as simple as you not being respectful of your neighbors peace and quiet.

How would you feel if he played heavy metal music (or whatever music you dislike a lot) so loud you could not get away from it.

I suggest you never play loudly again and give it some time to cool down.

he is against any belief in Christ.

Any reasonably intelligent person who devotes some time to studying Christianity as taught by the church will come to the same conclusion.

A faster way for this to cool down could be for you to apologize for playing so loudly.

He may be a very decent person.

I know a few agnostics and they are honest, decent people. One is in my home three or four times a week. He even has a key to my front door.

Hello miranda_78,

Dennis  advise is "Dead On" , having  a humble or learning to be humble and respectful to

others is another  key to living a Godly life.

Dennis,
I didn't mention that they could only hear me if they were outside, my windows were closed. They could have had respect for another persons rights to sing in their home, especially ,music that has the name of Jesus.  They started their loud commotions before I ever began my hymnal singing. I can send you an email description of every detail of the kinds of things they have done and it will probably startle you. I had talked to a pastor who was a police man during the time it began which was years ago to where he replied directly saying I should get the police involved and That was the icing start. Now they have gotten worse, and calling the police would not be something I want to do lest they continue on in their evil...

[Dave in Tenn]

Doesn't he have a "right" to be outside?  Of course, we aren't there so we can't know for sure what all he is doing/has done.  So far, I am pretty sure, he has not put you on trial, stripped and beaten you, and nailed you to a piece of wood.  Things kinda like that are going to happen.  We shouldn't be surprised when they do.  It's not easy following Him.

You say you've seen his 'spirit' in others.  Perhaps he has never seen a christian actually do the things in the scripture Rhys posted.  Maybe all he has seen are people quick to take offense, full of condemnation and hypocrisy.  I don't know...just saying that is pretty common.

If those scriptures don't apply to you in this situation, then I guess they don't.  Hang in there.

Proverbs 19:11New King James Version (NKJV)
11
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,
And his glory is to overlook a transgression.

Proverbs 12:16
16
A fool's wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame.

Proverbs 15:18
18
A wrathful man stirs up strife,
But he who is slow to anger allays contention.

Colossians 3:12-13

12 God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So your new life should be like this: Show mercy to others. Be kind, humble, gentle, and patient. 13 Don't be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If you feel someone has wronged you, forgive them. Forgive others because the Lord forgave you.

James 1:19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath

Stephen the Martyr

54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"

57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Remember constant communication (prayer) with God who knows both sides of your situation.

Without adversity how is one to learn righteousness ? God said to be thankful for all things ,  in this life we must experience the good the bad and the ugly if we are to grow.

Well, Christ did say forgive them they know not what they do, but what if they do know what they do ? Should we not forgive ? I say forgive them whoever they are , its apart of our learning righteousness.

God bless everyone.

I've had conflict with neighbors on many occasions. It sucks. I've gone to bed with the conflict on my mind and woken up with it on my mind.. To the point of losing sleep and waking up with a knot in my stomach. I've almost come to blows with a neighbor a time or two. Maybe the knot in my stomach was due to being ashamed or embarrassed at my own anger and overall attitude more so than anything that my neighbors ever did... Maybe not.

There's no price I can put on being at peace with my neighbors. I've found that being at peace with my neighbors has always depended upon my own attitude however. I can choose to be offended and angry and I can justify my feelings all I want. Or I can ignore and/or forgive my neighbors (as instructed to do so by Christ), put down my pride and ego and keep peace.

Romans 13:3  Rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil.  Do you want to be unafraid of the authority?  Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
Romans 13:4  For he is God's minister to you for good.  But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain: for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

[Joel]

I've been guilty, especially in my younger days of wanting to call the fire of God down on those that I perceived as my enemies.
God has helped me in my later years to see, and a lot of it has came through Ray's teaching, that such an attitude is not what the Lord Jesus himself taught.
Scripture;
Luke 6:27- But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.
28- Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Other verses in this same chapter may also be helpful.

Joel

[Miranda_78]

Dave, I didn't say I saw his spirit in others, I said that I have seen the kind of spirit he has and it is a Anti Christ, opposing, sowing discord spirit. I fully understand what we must fight against in this world, John said there are many antichrists.
2 John 1:7 - For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist

Well, I may not know weather he has seen a Christian in his life, but I have set a good example on not repaying him evil for evil, as i know not to do and have prayed for him many times.

Thank you Dave, God bless

[Miranda_78]

Thank you all for the responses, I appreciate it so much.

[JAH]

That means that God is causing your neighbor to be creepy to you and He caused every bad thing that has happened to you ever.

So you're telling me that God is the cause of all things bad including my past porn addictions? If that's true how do you explain this verse?

James 1:13-Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

Keep in mind I'm here trying to understand how some here believe in what they believe.

Hi JAH,

Here are a few emails that may help you with your questions.

http://forums.bible-truths.com/index.php/topic,6440.0.html ------------------

Dear Chad: I get asked this question about every 72 hours, month after month.  You make all your own choices and you think all your own thoughts, and you have a "will" to do so. What you don't have, is a will that is FREE FROM CAUSALITY to do these things. People will say things like: "What ever MADE you think that; or what ever MADE you do such and such."  There is your answer.

We know inherently that there are reasons CAUSES for your thoughts and choices. You can't make a choice that does not have a cause somewhere, and if something is caused to happen it could not have been otherwise. I teach the truths of God because this is just one way that God CAUSES people to see the truth (I Cor. 1:21).  The foolishness of teaching and preaching CAUSES people to see and understand and believe and act accordingly.

It is not correct to state as you have that "God CONTROLS our every thought and action."  He does not need to "control" us, as He already knows far in advance exactly what WE WILL DO AND THINK based on the conditions and circumstances of our individual lives.

http://www.forums.bible-truths.com/index.php/topic,2477.0.html ------------

"Free Will" does not exist because it is a physiologicaly impossibility and the Scriptures CONDEMN any such vanity-crazed idea.  Have you ever heard of the law of "cause and effect"?  It means for every effect there is a CAUSE.  This IS scientific. Therefore all of your thoughts and actions ARE CAUSED by something. Usually something that you are not even aware of, but being caused nonetheless.  This "cause" is what is responsible for your thoughts and actions. And once something is "caused" to happen, it could not have been otherwise.

God is the FIRST CAUSE of all law and matter.  I use the Scriptures to prove to Christians that they have no free will, as they claim to actually believe the Scriptures.  I would not use the Scriptures to prove to an athiestic evolutionary scientist that he has no free will. There I would use scientific law.

http://www.forums.bible-truths.com/index.php?topic=224.msg1868#msg1868 ---

I have explained this many times, but there are few who can understand it.  God created man subject to VANITY (failure). God made mankind that way. It is absolutely stupid for theologians to deny it. God plainly tells us this in Rom. 8:18:25.

Man has naturally a natural mind, a mind of flesh, called in Scripture the "carnal mind" and it naturally HATES God and cannot keep His law (Rom. 8:7).

But if you or anyone does not even believe these Scriptures, why go further?  God made man is testerone. His natural inclination is to have sex with pretty women--OFTEN.

Then God turns around and tells man to not have sex with pretty women AT ALL--only in marriage.  God doesn't MAKE OR FORCE man to desire sex with women. Man desires that all on his own. Some men desire sex with children. God doesn't MAKE OR FORCED men to have sex with children.  Some men do it naturally. Are you following me?

God could stop all men from having sex with children.  But He doesn't. That's because God has a plan for the human race that involves humans doing things so horrible, that they will eventually learn to never trust their own heart and mind again. They must have faith and trust in God through His Holy Spirit.

All men would have sex with little children, if they grew up under the same circumstances as the men who do have sex with little children. This is a sobbering thought that few theologians alive have ever contemplated for more than 2 and one half seconds.  And women have their particular natural inclination to commit horrible sins.  This is God's creation, not mine. This is God's plan with humans, not mine.  I can justify God in all His ways. Most can't. God will rectify and reconcile all things that has ever been committed.

[Ray replies]

Thank you for your email and comments.

I will briefly go through your comments:

You said, "...you [that's me] feel that God is to BLAME for all the suffering mankind experiences." Well, I would say "blame" is a very poor choice of words to describe what I believe regarding this matter. Blame denotes being WRONG or doing BAD or SINNING. God NEVER sins! A sin is a MISTAKE, a MISSING OF THE MARK, a FALLING SHORT of the ideal, whatsoever is not OF FAITH, and LAWLESSNESS.

God is not to BLAME for any of these. God is, however, responsible for EVIL and SINNERS, and everything else in this universe, seeing that it was He Who created it.

It does no good to hide one's head in the sand and pretend that God has nothing to do with EVIL. I heard Billy Graham teach the whole world from the national cathedral after 9/11 that, "God is not the author of evil." But of course, Billy Graham doesn't use the Scriptures for his authority, but rather the unscriptural traditions of men:

Isa. 45:7,  "I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace [good], and CREATE EVIL;  I the LORD DO ALL THESE THINGS."

God most certainly IS the creator of EVIL!

Contrary to the pagan and unscriptural traditions and heresies of Christendom, God IS responsible for ALL, because "ALL IS OF GOD" (Eph. 1:11, Rom. 11:36, II Cor.5:18), Etc.

You can't quote a Scripture that states that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and therefore conclude that God is opposed to anyone ever dying. God Himself makes WAR IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Have you never read ALL of the Bible:

"Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not EVIL AND GOOD?" (Lam. 3:38).

"...an experience of EVIL hath God given to the sons of man to humble him thereby" (Ecc. 1:13, Concordant Translation).

"Or has not the potter [GOD] the right over the clay, out of the same kneading to make one vessel, indeed, for honor, yet, on for DISHONOR?" (Rom. 9:19-25).

"...I [GOD] will bring EVIL from the north, and a GREAT DESTRUCTION" (Jer. 4:6).

"...Hear, O earth:  behold, I [GOD] will bring EVIL upon this people..." (Jer. 6:19).

"And he said, I [the lying spirit] will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets... and He [GOD] said, ...GO forth, and DO SO" (I Kg. 22:22).

"He [GOD] turned their heart to HATE HIS PEOPLE..." (Psa. 105:25).

"...Thus said the Lord; Behold, I FRAME EVIL AGAINST YOU, and devise a device against you..." (Jer. 18:11).

"O LORD, why has THOU MADE US TO ERR from thy ways, and HARDENED OUR HEART from thy fear?" (Isa. 63:17).

"...so shall the Lord bring upon you ALL EVIL THINGS, until he have destroyed you..." (Josh. 23:15).

"...shall there be  EVIL in a city, and the LORD HAS NOT DONE IT?" (Am. 3:6).

"Thus saith the Lord of hosts... go and SMITE Amelek... DESTROY... SLAY both man and woman, INFANT AND SUCKLING..." (I Sam. 15:2-3).

These may not be verses for Sunday school children, but they are Scripture for the mature.

God "SCOURGES every son that He receives." If you know anything about "scourging" you know it is quite severe. Job's afflictions were QUITE severe, our Apostle Paul's afflictions were QUITE severe.

God created EVIL, and God uses EVIL. But, He uses it for a GOOD AND HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS PURPOSE! "Evil" has nor moral bias. Evil is only a SIN when men use evil against other men. When God uses it, it is NO sin.

Hope this helps.
