Joy from the world vs Joy from the Spirit of Jesus
Prune Soleiado:
I live in France, nearby Paris.
So you can imagine the madness that reigns at this moment, now that the French soccer team has won the title of World Champion for the second time in 20 years.
Yesterday was total chaos, people shouting and honking through the night.
I thank God for putting me apart from all this because I really don’t understand the purpose of it.
People are crazy for what? A balloon. Idol of heart.
It makes me think about 2 verses:
Matthew 24:38: « For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark »
Revelation 13:15: « And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed »
Well then kill me... in the name of Jesus and for the glory of God.
Let’s add this image I have in mind: almost everyone had the French flag draw on their faces... Revelation 13:16: « And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads »
But still... people keeps on frowning and being unhappy about everything... they keeps on feeling lonely and sad, most of the time for no reason...
Proverbs 14:13: « Even in laughter the heart may ache,and rejoicing may end in grief. »
Of course, this rejoicing I see around me doesn’t come from the Spirit of God, it’s a joy that comes from the world. What would it produce? Nothing but a little wind, for an instant, a whisper quickly forgotten.
I saw it this morning in the train when going to my office. Nobody was smiling. Nobody. No communion. No gathering.
Ecclesiastes 1:2: « Meaningless! Meaningless!”says the Teacher.“Utterly meaningless!Everything is meaningless.”
Jesus showed us this solitude of heart that brings the world, despite its apparent happiness, when He was at the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles. I guess people were apparently happy, partying together.
Ecclesiastes 7:6 : « For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity. »
Jesus knew how sad and lonely every one of them felt inside at this Festival of Tabernacles.
John 7:37: « On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. »
He reminded everyone His joy is true, profound and never comes to pass, it satisfies plainly.
There has been a lot of people that have been hurt or that died celebrating yesterday night. They were celebrating death, not life.
God is Life, Jesus is the way, the truth, the LIFE.
Just waiting for the age when those people will be celebrating and glorifying God. What a real joy it shall be for all of us!
But for the moment, just a moment, let’s « leave the dead to bury their own dead ».
Wanda:
The whole world is mad Michelle.
I used to fear the world, but now I feel a sense of peace, knowing God has all things under his control. All of this insanity is as it should be, for the time he has alloted.
We are very blessed to be given the gift of sight.
John 5:19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
John 16:11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.
John 12:31 The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out.
1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Prune Soleiado:
Hello from France Sister Wanda 👋
God brought Psalm 16 to me this morning:
« 1 Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
3 I say of the holy people who are in the land,
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.
5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. »

michelle,
as an american born with some croatian heritage, i watched the game between france and croatia. a former athlete, i enjoyed watching the skill of both teams. God has blessed mankind with incredible gifts. He has allowed us, however, to idolize those gifts beyond all that is reasonable. i heard during the game that mbabe, a nineteen yeard old, had his contract purchased for $200 million? there are countries whose gdp is not equal to that amount. yet these things are celebrated.
as wanda indicates, God has allowed these things to be for His ultimate purpose to be fulfilled. we may not understand fully how this will occur, we just know that it will, because The Father has declared it to be so, and His mouth does not speak it, if it will not come to pass. until such time, we pray for the next stage of His declaration to begin, and we pray for those our brothers and sisters in humanity to be given sight, as He allows.

I know it's a hard thing to keep in mind. But God does not allow anything. He is the cause of everything, either directly or indirectly.
