Dear Paul:
No, NOT "correct." Jesus gave many parables without actually calling them parables:
Luke 15:3--"And He spake this [five-part] parable unto them, sayhing":
1. "What MAN of you...." (Verse 5, the first parable).
2. "Either WHAT WOMAN...." (Verse 8, the second parable, but not called a parable).
3. "A CERTAIN MAN...." (Verse 11, the third parable, but not called a parable).
4. "There was a CERTAIN RICH MAN...." (Chapt. 16:1, the fourth parable, but not called a parable).
5. "There was A CERTAIN RICH MAN...." (Verse 19, the fifth parable, but not called a parable, because all five are part of the same ONE, FIVE-PART PARABLE).
And so "Lazarus and the Rich man" is most emphatically a PARABLE!
God be with you,
Ray
PS I also give a dozens more reasons why Lazarus is a parable in my paper on this parable found on our home page.
