overcome with emotions 2
« on: October 26, 2006, 05:48:28 PM »

Hey! ,  hope you guys didn't mind me starting another thread-

Thanks all for opening my eyes and reminding me  to see this. God needs to come 1st, because it wouldn't be right if I  threw away my life for a baby. If we spent our whole lives living for a baby rather than living for God,  and we all already know how miserable it is when we take our eyes off Him and focus on ourselves like us wanting something  like a baby or anything that has nothing to do with God.

Thanks for helping encourage and remind me to focus on God, not just me, but us,  we need to encourage ourselves so that when that day comes we can know that we have lived our lives for Him not just for ourselves.

The thing is, although it seems totally unnatural, undesirable, even unachievable, to let go and give our dreams to God, His instruction for us to do just that is actually a gift. For when we can truly surrender, that unattainable peace becomes reality... That unattainable fulfillment and longing and desire is replaced with the satisfaction and contentment that only God can give. That misery and struggle is replaced with the joy of the Lord- not a fake bouncy happiness when things are tough, but a deep inner joy that comes from knowing that things are right with you and the Lord, He is in control, and He is good and I want that. I want to be happy, I want peace and satisifcation and this desire ot have a baby is consuming me, like one of you said. It's eating me away, and i want to let it go, make peace with God. Believe me, I try to put my life to a good use, i help other people's kids too. I bless them with stuff that they need, and what they want, not just kids, I do that to adults. IT just give me joy to just do that, I love doing that, and that is one reason I wanted to have kids of my own too. I love being a nurturer, just that is enough to drive me crazy when i'm longing to be a mommy.

God is good! Do we believe that? We need to!!! When our loved ones die, our funds are low, our health is poor, our friends have abandoned us…when we don't have a baby…God is good! He is you know!  The Bible says that God has given everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him. (2 Peter 1:3) So to know what pleases Him we need to know Him. And we know more about Him by reading His word. Great motivation to read it more, and so I need that. it's a gift from God to do just that so let's pray and ask God to help us do that.

I think what we can do when struggling to trust the Lord and give everything to Him is to focus on His unchanging character. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)

It's truly a privilege to learn from Him together; with you guys! Please help me remember these things.  It's incredible how it has affected how I cope with Infertility. I need reminding of what truly matters. I sometime forget, sometimes i get blinded by the desires of my heart that i let go of what matters more. sometimes I Just need reminding of how great and good God is. thank you guys for helping me with this. i am not there yet but with your prayers, and GOd's help. I'll get there.  Thank you!

Lacey,
That was wonderful to read.  I too have been learning to give everything to God.  I'm a worrier...constantly and about everything.  It keeps me from sleeping as much as I need to.  But, I think it's getting better.  I've been spending a lot of time when I get to worrying redirecting my thoughts to God and how much He loves us and all that He has blessed me with.  Stopping striving and waiting on Him is so hard sometimes.  But, the peace and reassurance that someone who is totally wise and loving is in control.  That makes it all better somehow.

Isn't it amazing how God can turn the worst mood or day into indescribable joy and peace?  Thanks for your post.  It was a real blessing to read.

Love in Christ,

Lacey, reading that filled me with such joy for you.  I needed a little joy today, and that sure hit the spot.

Psa 35:27  Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psa 35:28  And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

Be Blessed,

Hi there Lacey23,

Your feelings are similar to what I feel in my life right now. We can tend to make our desires, idols of the heart and forget that God is our happiness and joy.

My desire is to see a friend who lives in Slovenija (I live in London, England) but my husband will not allow me to go, as he doesn't like being on his own and doesn't like travelling abroad.  It is so frustrating when I hear of people going abroad and I can't.  I can understand if this sounds trivial to you but I get so angry at times, that God doesn't change the way my husband feels.

We all get angry at God for not giving us what we want, whether it's more money, a child, a more exciting job, a bigger house, etc and they can become idols.
I just want to say thankyou for reminding me that we have to let go and give our dreams to God.  Wanting and not getting does deprive us of peace.  If it's not meant to be, God has a good reason for that.
Thanks again and God bless

Lacey

It is wonderful to see how God has blessed you!  It warms my heart, eases my mind, encourages my soul and lifts my spirit.

I did not mean to assume you were not already helping out kids or being attentive of others needs and I hope you did not take offence. I have been thinking of you and I found a scripture for you that acctually has been helping me...

Psalm 138 : 8 The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love oh Lord endures forever.

What I learn't from this is that God will not fulfill MY purpose but HIS and the way He does it is through HIS love that endures forever. I understand the Hebrew word for Love means more fully, the faithfulness that causes God to keep the comitments of the covenant He has made with us."......

I NEVER KNEW THAT...and as I read this my heart turned to you and now I know it is meant for me too!....not just you...

I am still under test and am happy you have come through with flying colors!..... :D  (A red rose!)
