Imabeliever:
I do remember a time when I was young, when I thought that music got me through a tough time! (Forgive me lord, for I now know that the single set of footprints was you carrying me through them hard times!!!) I do so enjoy music though! ;)

Anothy--

Joyce :)
Dave in Tenn:
I was listening to Simon and Garfunkle's old concert at Central Park on DVD just the other day and had the 'subtitles' on for the lyrics. I can't remember which song it was now (more than one, actually), but I did have a sense that it made more sense now spiritually than when I was young and dumber.
Now you can quit laughing at me for liking Simon and Garfunkle. ;D

HI Joyce,
Patti Labbell and Micheal McDonalds---On My Own
I think this song came out in 1987-88. i was only about 10. I only heard and saw the video once, but this song i never forgot.
Well grew up never knowing my father. I only remember seeing him 3 times. once beating on my mother and 2 times going back to jail.
Well, the whole song has different lines that used to raise questions, but here's one line---"Why did it end this way, (on my own), this wasn't how it was supposed to be"
I used to always wonder about that line, why did end this way. To me I would apply that part--why did it have to be like this? and then that next part I would think things should've and was supposed to be different.
but now i know everything that happens is part of Gods' Plan and everthing that happened had to "be/end this way"
This also reminds when i first started searching for the Truth, I used to be a strong believer of you can control your destiny and things didn't just 'happen for a reason'. I remember pondering on that for long time, but could never come up with a way to control my destiny. Then after reading Rays papers on the Myth of Freewill I found out why i couldn't and WHAT an eye opener!!!
I'm so glad that God is in control.
In Jesus,
Anthony
