For all you lovers out there, young and old!

[lilitalienboi16]

Rascal Flatts - God bless the broken.

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Can i get an amen? Amen!! Haha, great song! Love to all my brothers and sisters young and old alike!!!

God bless you all,

Alex

[Dave in Tenn]

That works if you love Jesus, too.

Thanks, man.  I'm gonna have to look that one up.

[gmik]

Alex, you sound mighty fine!!  Hope all is well in your world!  And yes you get an Amen for that.  Awesome lyrics!!!

[lilitalienboi16]

Dear friends,

It was my pleasure to be able to share this song with you. I'm glad you both enjoyed it! It's so beautiful!

Thanks for the amen gmik.

Thing's are okay, they could be better. However, i know that if nothing is going wrong, than everything is wrong! For God chastens those whom He loves. So i am glad that things aren't perfect, i wanna be a Son of God. I want to be judged now! Thank God for His judgements, fiery trials, love, mercy and strength!

God bless you all,

Alex

Boy, if we all could only learn that we would be on our way to being sons of God!
Thanks for that word Alex.  I will chew on that all day!

[OBrenda]

That was great Alex,

Thank God for all the Broken roads that lead to Jesus!

KANSAS
carry on wayward son

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew to high

Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a madman
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming; I could hear them say

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man
It surely means that I don't know

On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed around I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune
But I hear the voices say

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more.

Carry on you will alwys remember
Carry on nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you

Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

Hi! Alex

Thanks for sharing that song and the link to UTube. I played it over and over several times and I've even put it on my favourite list. It's beautiful and it gave me 57 years of my life back for a few minutes at a time. Thank you.

Randy those are lovely lyrics "Carry on wayward son" but do you have the link on UTube for me to listen to it being sung as I was rather a long way behind in the queue when voices were handed out.

God bless you brother in our joint walk in Christ.

Love in Christ Jesus.

Hey Randy,

Carry On my Wayward Son by Kansas is one of my all-time favorites. When that song came out, I wore the plastic off that Album quickly; . Thanks for providing the lyrics, now I'll sing and drive the Freckle Girl nuts. My current song that I can't stop listening to lately is Otherside by The red Hot Chili Peppers, must of played it 40 times in three days.

                                  Your Brother, Samson

Hi Roy
I don;t know how to link to u-tube but maybe someone can link it here.
Hi Samson,

Good thing cd players are cheaper these days.

Take care
Brothers in Christ.

Hey all you Kansas Fans....

Don't Forget this one:                    http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=hkbdP7sq0w8

Dust in the Wind

I close my eyes
only for a moment
and the moment's gone
all my dreams
pass before my eyes a curiosity
dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind

Same old song
just a drop of water
in the endless sea
all we do
crumbles to the ground
though we refuse to see
dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind

Now, don't hang on
nothing last forever
but the earth and sky
it slips away

And all your money
won't another minute buy

Dust in the wind
all we are is dust in the wind
dust in the wind
everything is dust in the wind

[joyful1]

Alex--
this old hippie recently picked up her guitar again after about 20 years--I don't know what happened to me, but when I turned 50 last year, I just became a lot more happy for some weird reason--and yes even in the midst of the storm--it just happened! One of the things that I enjoy even more now than when I was a teenager is my guitar--could you or your friend that wrote that song for his mother last year (I hope I have that right?) give me the chords for that song you posted: God Bless the Broken? I love it! If you know some simple chords that would work it would be better, my hands are sometimes not strong enough to play the bar chords, depends on the day. It doesn't have to be perfect, I know they post them online...but usually they put the exact ones up that only real pros can play!

Also; OBrenda, I've always thought that "Dust In The Wind" could easily be adapted to the UR/US message--have you ever thought about altering the lyrics to do that? Do you OBrenda or anyone here know the chords for Dust In The Wind? That's a tricky one if I recall! Remember: I'm looking for simple chords that will "work" not necessarily the ones that the composer wrote.
I know, weird! sorry! I am what I am!
Joyce

[OBrenda]

Hey Joyce,

I'm a Hippie at heart myself, use to wear the headbands and bellbottoms, even dated guy's who looked like the Kansas Artist.  I don't have any music cords   can't play music myself. But music is so spiritual to me I love it.  I more the writer of lyrics, poems & novels type. (if you haven't noticed I can get kind of dramatic  sometimes) So I feel fairly confident I could alter the words to be more on target....

My Dad taught me my great appreciation for music as a child, he has the gift of his ear, right now he is helping produce a Grammy award winner Navajo Indian whom plays the flute. I'd love to sing, but that blessing God handed to my daughter

As I was watch the U-Tube videos I was thinking of Sozo/Jason's videos.  It might be Cool to make some music
videos to post with the UR/US message in them, even if it was just for our enjoyment.

Sisters in Weirdness,
Brenda

[joyful1]

okay, OBrenda! you're on! You write the lyrics, email to me, I'll try getting my daughter to sing, I'll play it, we'll email the video to sozo and ask him to mix it with some graphics or whatever and upload to youtube....
in the words of Snuffy Smith; "times a wastin!"

Try this.  If it works out for you, let me know and I'll attempt to work out the 'bridge'.

If you have trouble with the Bm, a D might work OK there.

 One Tin Soldier
(The Legend of Billy Jack)
(by Lambert-Potter, sung by Coven)

Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

[Samson]

Thankyou Brian,

I Love Billy Jack Movies and that song; One Tin Soldier, but didn't know all the Lyrics. Billy Jack has his own website; I would like to send him some of what is taught at Bible-Truths.com, he seems like he might be a sincere Truth seeker. I thought he was dead, due to some false rumor.

Now, I can use those Lyrics for my new answering machine message, I have a knack for making rhyming type cynical answering machine type messages, well, thanks again for the Lyrics.

                                       Kind Regards, Samson.
