December 2008 - 40th Anniversary of the Great Gamble: Apollo 8

The Apollo 8 trip around the moon December 21-28, 1968..... the first manned launch of the Saturn V rocket...... the first time humans left Earth orbit..... the famous Earth-rise photo..... the Christmas Eve speech..... the reading of the first 10 verses from the Book of Genesis..... awesome moments!

The video here sums it up nicely:

"Christianity began as a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When it went to Athens, it became a philosophy. When it went to Rome, it became an organization. When it went to Europe, it became a culture. When it came to America, it became a business."

You will probably never hear the Bible read from space again.
