Heidi,
A prayer for you, and some scriptures to cling to...
Dear Heavenly Father, my Sister Heidi feels very weak and tired. Her daughter is in trouble, and this comes so soon after her previous trials. She doesn't feel the strength to go on, or know what You want her to do now. But You, Lord, are her strength and know all things. Please show Heidi that it is times like this that she doesn't need to be strong, because You are with her. Please show her that she is strongest when she is on her knees. Let Your power work through her to resolve this situation according to Your perfect will, Father. As You guide her steps, please let her feel Your Spirit in her inner being, and know the love of Christ and feel Your fullness within her. Let her know that she will not misstep and that she need not worry about doing the wrong thing, because You are in control.
I also ask that you give the same comfort and assurance to her husband and others that love and worry about the daughter. Nobody is strong enough for trials like this by themselves.
Finally, Lord, let your will be done in the life of Heidi's daughter. I trust that Your purpose in this is righteous and will be accomplished. You know my heart and why I'm asking. May it be Your will that the emptiness that she is trying to fill with drugs now will be filled with something much better, later.
Amen
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Ephesians 3:14-19 - For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
