Myths and Endless Genealogies

aqrinc:

Hi Judy,

I do agree with you about the analogy of eating and digesting. That is why i thought this post
was important for us, to do a check up on where we are spending most of our time. Are we
digesting or just regurgitating the old and mixing it with the new. We are given 3 score and 10
maybe 4 score years:

Psalms 90:10:
The days of our years are three score years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be
fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

With The above Scripture in mind; should we not use the time we have now to learn what GOD
Has already laid out for us. Again the point is we can hang on to where we came from; but
that means we will not get to the other side until we let go and Go Forward. We already know
what happened to Israel because of mixing old and new or outright rejecting The New (GOD'S LAW)

Numbers: 14: 1-4
1-And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

2-And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole
congregation said to them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God
we had died in this wilderness!

3-And why has the LORD brought us to this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our
children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

4-And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Talking about it reinforces the new thinking for me. Don't we have to "Eat" and digest the word of God (get it down in our spirit )  judy

George, thanks a lot for reminding me of how old I am!! Wow at best with 3 score and 10 I have about 3 1/2 yrs left. And what has God laid out for us? The way I see it here (and this has been such sorrow for me) that I will not go and be with God  at my death and I will have to lie in my grave  for at least a 1,000 yrs.  And that the consolation that my loved ones are not with the Lord (I thought to separated from the body was to be with the Lord) and I was so grieved over this but whatever happens I have decided to trust God for all of it but there were many days of heartfelt sorrow.  So, what else is there for me to learn? Judy

aqrinc:

Hi Judy,

Once you learn that the story is so different from what Christendom teach; you will be so happy
you won't know what to do with yourself. Keep learning and Praying; your promise is right in the
Scriptures as is everyone else's.

Heb 4: 1-16 (CEV) Contemporary English Version.

Heb 4:1  The promise to enter the place of rest is still good, and we must take care that none of you miss out.
Heb 4:2  We have heard the message, just as they did. But they failed to believe what they heard, and the message did not do them any good.
Heb 4:3  Only people who have faith will enter the place of rest. It is just as the Scriptures say, "God became angry and told the people, 'You will never enter my place of rest!' " God said this, even though everything has been ready from the time of creation.
Heb 4:4  In fact, somewhere the Scriptures say that by the seventh day, God had finished his work, and so he rested.
Heb 4:5  We also read that he later said, "You people will never enter my place of rest!"
Heb 4:6  This means that the promise to enter is still good, because those who first heard about it disobeyed and did not enter.
Heb 4:7  Much later God told David to make the promise again, just as I have already said, "If you hear his voice today, don't be stubborn!"
Heb 4:8  If Joshua had really given the people rest, there would not be any need for God to talk about another day of rest.
Heb 4:9  But God has promised us a Sabbath when we will rest, even though it has not yet come.
Heb 4:10  On that day God's people will rest from their work, just as God rested from his work.
Heb 4:11  We should do our best to enter that place of rest, so that none of us will disobey and miss going there, as they did.
Heb 4:12  What God has said isn't only alive and active! It is sharper than any double-edged sword. His word can cut through our spirits and souls and through our joints and marrow, until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts.
Heb 4:13  Nothing is hidden from God! He sees through everything, and we will have to tell him the truth.
Heb 4:14  We have a great high priest, who has gone into heaven, and he is Jesus the Son of God. That is why we must hold on to what we have said about him.
Heb 4:15  Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin!
Heb 4:16  So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.

Total Greek to me. What rest are you talking about, here or later in the grave? I am serious, I do not know what to look forward to now, all thoughts of soon being with my Lord have been taken away or I have laid them down. A thousand years might be like a day in the sight of the Lord but I am human and a thousand years is a thousand years to me. I will overcome but now what? Judy

Judy why do you think this?  You will soon be with the Lord.  I don't know how old you are but lets guess 40, if you live another 40 years I think that is pretty soon. You could also die today, and that would be very soon.  I think you are talking about being dead in your grave for a long time?  That may be true, but time will not pass for you there, you will know nothing, you will be dead.  A person who dies 1 thousand years ago will have the same sense of time passing as someone who dies the day of the Lord's return.  Our only, and great hope, is for God to raise us from the dead, when that happens it will seem as we closed our eyes and then opened them the next moment.

So what do I look forward too?  I look forward to when I am resurrected and enter into the judgment, to when God takes my sinful nature and carnal thoughts and gets them out of me, as by fire, so that I am left a child of God in His image.

Blessings
Craig
