Mystries in Ruth

Ninny:
Wow! Beloved, who knew what lessons are to be learned from a small book of Scripture! Did this actually leave Rodger speechless??  ;)

Kathy :D

Beloved:
Tradition has it that Boaz was elderly, he was however still fit enough to work and guard his fields.

Ruth is submissive and obedient in all. She does not quite understand why Boaz would even take notice of her as a foreigner . She appreciates his attention and concern for her.

She is even obedient when Naomi tells Ruth go to the threshing floor in the middle of the night . This was dangerous and could give the wrong message.

This midnight encounter is very symbolic

She was told to wash,  annoint and change her remnant... things the elect must do if they want to go to the threshing floor a place of separation and judgement . The Word and the spirit must wash us, we must be a sweet smell to our God and have His righteous garment on and have all of our filty rags removed. The elect are being judged now while they live the many will be later..

Did you notice the prophetic phrase that Naomi’s makes in

(Rth 2:20)  And Naomi said unto her daughter-in-law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.

She is right He has not stopped showing his kindness to either the physical living or dead and he will continue to show it to the spiritual living andr dead"

I think the women naturally get goosebumps at this next romantic act of Ruth when  uncovers his feet and lies at his feet like a ready servant of the master but we have to remember that in the Hebrew culture this was a covenant act.

What struck me was that the corners of the garmets are where God commaned his people to place the Tsitsit, these are tassels with blue thread.

It is the part that the woman of issue took hold of on Jesus ....the tassle are visual aids of God's commandment to help man remember the covenant that God has made. Those tassles would re-enforce the message  that Boaz needed to obey the commandment that Ruth and naomi were seeking.

(Num 15:38)  `Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, and they have made for themselves fringes on the skirts of their garments, to their generations, and they have put on the fringe of the skirt a ribbon of blue,

(Num 15:39) and it hath been to you for a fringe, and ye have seen it, and have remembered all the commands of Jehovah, and have done them, and ye search not after your heart, and after your eyes, after which ye are going a-whoring;
(Num 15:40)  so that ye remember and have done all My commands, and ye have been holy to your God;

The corners are also thought of as wings and this wings metaphor is used many many times to show that God will provide for us if we seek HIm as our refuge.

(Eze 16:8)  Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I swore unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.

Israel is the woman He spread His corner over, mans nakedness must be covered.

(Eze 16:60)  Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

Here is  sample of some other verses that I picked out

Exo 19:4  Ye--ye have seen that which I have done to the Egyptians, and I bear you on eagles' wings , and bring you in unto Myself.

Deu 32:11  As an eagle waketh up its nest, Over its young ones fluttereth, Spreadeth its wings--taketh them, Beareth them on its pinions;

Psa 17:8  Keep me as the apple, the daughter of the eye; In shadow of Thy wings thou dost hide me

Psa 36:7  How precious is Thy kindness, O God, And the sons of men In the shadow of Thy wings do trust.

Psa 63:7  For Thou hast been a help to me, And in the shadow of Thy wings I sing.

Psa 91:4  With His pinion He covereth thee over, And under His wings thou dost trust, A shield and buckler is His truth.

Jesus himself alludes to this with even a more personal touch, not with a magnificent eagle but with a lowly hen.

Luk 13:34  `Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that is killing the prophets, and stoning those sent unto her, how often did I will to gather together thy children, as a hen her brood under the wings, and ye did not will.

What is really moving is this midnight meeting is something that we all have to experience and then take Rest in His Sovergnty, Lovingkindness and Mercy (Chesed)

Did you see this line?

(Rth 3:1)  Then Naomi her mother-in-law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

Naomi tells her that she will seek her rest, but like the church she  is blind.

H4494    מנוח mânôach maw-no'-akh From H5117; quiet, that is, (concretely) a settled spot, or (figuratively) a home: - (place of) rest.

But we know that true REST is not possible to achieve through any self made attempt

No we have to go another route,

(Mat 11:28)  Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST.
(Mat 11:29)  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
(Mat 11:30)  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Marlene:
This is a fantastic post. I am following it and also marking scriptures.  I may still be a child, but the Lord is making me work. My Bible never looked like this while in Babylon. I have found me some tools to help me now. I really get all excited over learning this all. It also, makes your personal walk better.

It also, amazes me how I can be thinking about something and I go to look for it in scriptures and the Lord puts me right on the Chapter and verse I am needing. This child is growing so this confirms to me the Holy Spirit is working in me.

In His Love,
Marlene

Beloved:
Yes Marlene when reading the Word the Lord will lead you in the Spirit

Try chewing on this little verse and see what He will show you

(Rth 2:2)  And Ruth the Moabitess saith unto Naomi, `Let me go, I pray thee, into the field, and I gather among the ears of corn after him in whose eyes I find grace;' and she saith to her, `Go, my daughter.'

childern !

Sorry Rodger but this sounds very intolerant and I am offended as I am yet learning and I don't glean half of what is being said in this thread. I have been reading at BT everyday for a year now. To use the word "unfortunately" implies babes in the word are a bother to you.  We are not born adults just as we are not scholars in the truth of scripture as soon as we leave babylon.
