Like Moths to Flame- A Music Video

[Vheissu]

Hey guys, I want to share something with you that I made. I dunno how you feel about The Passion of The Christ movie, but IMO, except for a few catholic inspired situations, it's a good depiction of Jesus' suffering for our sins. It also depicts the apostle Peter's denial of Jesus very well, especially when he meets Jesus' eyes and remembers what he told him. Anyways, there is a song by Thrice (one of my fav bands) that is about Peter's denial from his point of view. The minute I watched the movie, I could imagine Thrice's song fitting perfectly with scenes from the movie, so I executed my vision. I'd like to hear what you guys think about my video, so I welcome you to watch it. I will warn you, there is violence and some blood in the video, but we can't think those things never happened.
I'll post the lyrics to the song as well, you may want to read them before you watch the video.

Here are the lyrics:

Like Moths To Flame - Thrice

Once again these bitter herbs
The perfect compliment to all your cryptic words
I nod but don't know what to say, but I know you
And I believe you're who you say you are so I..

I will follow you, lay down my life
I would die for you, this very night

Once again the bread and wine
But it seems the meanings may be deeper still this time
And you surprised me when you said I'd fall away, don't you know me
I could never be ashamed of you, no I...

I will follow you, lay down my life
I would die for you, this very night

I've never been this cold, the fire's gravity compels
Like planets cling to sol, I feel my orbit start to fail
Like moths to flame I come, too close And all my oaths are burned
As stars begin to run, all my accusers take their turn
And calling curses down, from my lips lies like poison spill
And then that awful sound, the sound of prophesy fulfilled
And then I met your eyes, and I remember everything
And something in me dies, the night that I betrayed my king

Dear Lord i luv thrice, i didn't even know that song existed, thanks for pointin it out. I havn't watched the video yet, but i will!

Powerfull words, i luv thrice because there songs are so rich in meaning, you just have to understand what they are talkin about, there powerfull.

This son gis one of my favorites and i think its about Following Christ, or being His.

Thrice - Image of the Invisible

We're more than carbon and chemicals,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.
Free will is ours and we can't let go,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.
We can't allow this, the quiet cull,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.
So we sing out this, our canticle,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.

We all were lost, now we are found,
No one can stop us or slow us down.
We are the named and we are known,
We know that we'll never walk alone.

We're more than static and dial tone,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.
We're emblematic of the unknown,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.
So raise the banner, bend back your bows,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.
remove the cancer, take back your souls,
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.

We all were lost, now we are found,
No one can stop us or slow us down.
We are the named and we are known,
We know that we'll never walk alone.

Though all the world may hate us, we are named.
The shadow overtake us, we are known.

We're more than carbon and chemicals,
Free will is ours and we can't let go.
We Are The Image Of The Invisible.

We all were lost, now we are found,
No one can stop us or slow us down.
We are the named and we are known,
We know that we'll never walk alone.

So raise the banner, bend back your bows,
remove the cancer, take back your souls.  <---- This verse right here has to be one of the greatest verses of poetry i've ever read. Powerfull words!

Here is another great song from thrice.

A torch to end ALL torches

Misguided satellite
I circle by habit,
can't find my orbit to save my life
I want to fall,
I want to burn,
like an ignorant craterless meteorite
Long ago I was derailed,
long ago the mission failed
but in the distance there appears a light

Disgruntled architect
building a palace
cant make it perfect to save my life
victimless crime ride the wrecking ball in
evacuate now while I breathe dynamite
Efforts all to no avail
I'm revenge's countervail
torn in pieces, I am made contrite

And in my darkest hour
the brightest light draws near to me
a torch to end all torches,
this is the light that sets me free
all shadows burn away now
but by his grace I am sustained
though all was lost,
now all is found and more is gained

Lift me up and make me whole
Instill in me a new hope
Breathe new life into my soul

And also another band i'm not sure your aware about but this son is awsome, allt here sons are biblical, well atleast most all, but they don't sound anything like a Christian band, much like thrice its all hidden meanin thats why its so awsome, atleast to me

Avenged Sevenfold - The Beast and the harlot. <--- Thats right this son is totaly about the book of revalations, awsome song! They are actualy right also about some of there lyrics without even knowin it. (Seeing how most people completley misunderstand revalations, and even i still have pretty much close to no clue what its whole meaning is.)

This shining city built of gold, a far cry from innocence
There's more than meets the eye round here look to the waters of the deep
A city of evil

There sat a seven-headed beast, ten horns raised from his head
A symbolic woman sits on his throne but hatered strips her and leaves her naked
The Beast and the Harlot

She's a dwelling place for demons
She's a cage for every unclean spirit,
Every filthy bird and makes us drink
The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings
Fallen now is Babylon the Great

The city dressed in jewels and gold, fine linen, Myrrh and pearls
Her plagues will come all at once as mourners watch her burn
Destroyed in an hour

Merchants and captains of the world, sailors, navigators too
Will weep and mourn this loss with her sins piled to the sky
The Beast and the Harlot

She's a dwelling place for demons
She's a cage for every unclean spirit,
every filthy bird and makes us drink
The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings
Fallen now is Babylon the Great

The day has come for all us sinners
If your not a servant you'll be struck to the ground
Flee the burning, greedy city
Looking back on her to see there's nothing around
I don't believe in fairytales and no one wants to go to Hell
You made the wrong decision and it's easy to see
Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us
Your welcome to the city where your future is set forever

She's a dwelling place for demons
She's a cage for every unclean spirit, every filthy bird and makes us drink
The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings
Fallen now is Babylon the Great

She's a dwelling place for demons
She's a cage for every unclean spirit, every filthy bird and makes us drink
The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings
Fallen now is Babylon the Great

Well ok im gonna check that video now, just giving you a shout out for the post

God bless Brother,

Yeah man Thrice is an amazing band, along with Avenged Sevenfold. Chapter Four by Avenged is about Cain and Able, if you've never heard that song check it out. Another band is Becoming the Archetype, they got a death metal sound but are totally Christian. It's funny, I play these bands at work sometime, and people go "what is this satanic devil worshiping crap?"...but if they only knew the true meaning of the songs...anyways, thanks for checkin out. God Bless

Daniel

So um, any viewers? Thoughts? Comments?

[chuckusa]

Hey Daniel,

Well, I did read your posts but I have to admit I don't really think I'm up on the latest music. I watched the video too!

I have my doubts as to the sincerity of a lot of christian music. Some, I believe are just using the christian label to sell cd's, so its really sad that so many people buy into it thinking they are hearing something deep.

Now I'm not saying that about what you presented because I'm really not familiar with that.

I think I'm somewhat burnt out on music. I played with a couple of bands in Saint Petersburg Florida back when I was under contract with the coast guard, and almost went deaf from the drums at night and the aircraft in the daytime!

Guess I don't have a lot to add but just wanted to say keep searching brother! It's a lot of small steps, and sometimes some giant leaps!

Blessing Daniel,
Chuck

Yeah I agree that some bands out there use the Christian label, and don't sing anything deep or meaningful, however Thrice is different. They haven't labeled themselves christian, and half of their fans get enraged if someone mentions that Thrice is Christian. It takes more thought to understand most of their songs, this one however was straight forward. Thank you for watching the video though, hope you liked it..

God Bless

Hi Daniel,

Yeah, I did watch the video. That was the first time I've ever seen that. I know....I'm probably one of the very few who haven't!

This may not make any sense at all, but I had a hard time watching that, I couldn't finish it. So, I guess I'm a total failure as your critic

Well, don't fire me yet!

Peace Daniel,
Chuck

[Vheissu]

I had a friend tell me she couldn't watch the whole thing either, she said she never wanted to see The Passion Of Christ. I asked her why, and she said she was scared to see it...I told her I was once scared to watch the movie cause of everyone saying they felt bad for their sins after watching it, and I was afraid too that I'd get depressed over myself or seomthing....I'm not saying that this is your reason, but you're not alone, and I take no offense. Thanks for actually takin the time to read my post and click the link though!

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bobby(bob)

I say the same!

Powerfull words man, and what makes them even more powerfull is we could probably all sing that song about ourselves..
