If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

[Robin]

Romans 12:18-20

18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

25 years ago I rented out a room to a man that sexually assaulted my children. He was recommended by my next door neighbor. I ended up having the police throw him out because my daughter said he rubbed her leg. A few years ago my daughter started remembering much more and it turned out that the person sexually assaulted both my children and did things to them that you would find in a serial killer movie. We reported it to the police a few years ago and they could do nothing. It was too late. They couldn't find anything on the young girl who may have been murdered by this guy. So he got by with all of it and we knew he was still out there hurting children. He has no criminal history and they couldn't find a thing on him.

My daughter ended up having a severe breakdown a few years ago when she remembered all of this. My son still doesn't remember much, but struggles with the damage that it caused. I felt so angry at God a few years ago. I prayed so hard for my kids all their lives and felt that God just stood by and let this happen. I felt so guilty for not knowing to protect them. We both went to counseling and worked it through. We realized that he was a professional at this evil and there was no way I could have known. I used to put the kids to bed a 9:00pm and go out with friends for a couple of hours. They were asleep when I left and asleep when I came home. He told them he would kill me if they told me about it. I must say I wanted to hurt this guy at first and it took me some time to work it through with God. I just kept repeating the "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord" scripture and letting it go. It even helped me more when I came here and learned that God created evil and caused evil in our lives for our growth and refinement.

So yesterday I was looking for a file on the computer and I ran across his name in one of my files. I put his name in Google just to see if there was anything new on him and I found these articles from a month ago. It kind of put us both back in shock and it was a real emotional roller coaster for us. We talked to the prosecutor and he will probably do 10 to 50 years in prison. My daughter wants to talk at his sentencing so I will need to go with her.

* Martin Dolamore, San Diego, CA: During the execution of the Operation Emissary search warrant, Dolamore admitted to molesting at least eight children over a period of 30 years. Dolamore described his strategy for selecting his targets for molestation and claimed to be very proficient at pinpointing vulnerable children. He also indicated that he had traveled overseas to have sex with children in the Philippines.

So far 16 victims have come forward. They found unspeakable things in this man's house. I'm sure there are hundreds of victims. There is not much worse than this evil.

So here we are having to face all of this again. We've offered our phone number to assist the other victims and families. We can't talk to them until after the hearing next year. My daughter fell apart again yesterday, but pulled it together rather quickly. I must confess that I was overjoyed when I saw that he was arrested and felt a sense of justice. I was humbled again when I thought of God's mercy with me. I have also been evil in his sight according to his high standards. He died for us when we were his enemy. I think the anger quickly turned to grief. Loving your enemy can be very difficult in times like this. I don't wish him harm and I can pray that God's will be done in his life, but that's it for now.

Matthew 5:
43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Hi M.G.  I know at the moment you are all struggling with this in your lives but the mercy of God is so great.  I know because I have been there but for myself as a child.  I know the havoc it causes both now & as the years go by.  But god can so use you & your children in the coming years & His love & mercy will - WILL - enable you to eventually love this person, & help you to help others to love their enemies also.  Rom :28 All things work for good for those who love God.  My prayers & heart to you.  Blondie.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I will be praying for you & your children. I don't "get" things like this but can only trust our Lord has a plan & it excedes my puny mind. May God be close to you all during this time.

Psalm 37
1Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

11But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

15Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

16A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

18The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

26He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

27Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

28For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

30The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

31The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

32The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

33The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

36Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

38But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

40And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

M.G.,
Wow.  I imagine finding this out would certainally open old wounds...but also perhaps it will give you and your children some peace and space to continue healing.  God can and will heal these wounds for both you and your children.  It just takes time and it is a long hard road.  I know from personal experience how devastating it can be having these experiences as a child.  Moving from anger and vengence to forgiveness is so hard, but also necessary.  I'm glad that this man was caught; hopefully they'll keep him away so he will never hurt another child again.  None of the men who hurt me were ever caught or charged to my knowledge, but I know that God will deal with their sins in His way, in His time.  It still breaks my heart and cause me much anguish every time I think of all the other children they must have hurt (and may still be hurting). Thanks God that He is giving you this peace.  I too will be praying for you and your children.

May God grant you courage and peace in these trials.

Love in Christ,

mongoose

MG it always breaks my heart and most times angry at the individuals who do such things to a defenceless child. The bible tells us that be sure your sin will find you out.

MG your past may and I am sure will be, a big help to someone one day that has had the same things happen to them. God can and will make all things work together for good those who love Him.

MG my friend you are a real inspiration to me.

prayer going up for you my dear sister and friend.

I love you,
