Another prayer request
« on: January 19, 2008, 08:25:24 AM »

Dear Forum folks,

I'd like you all to remember my 13 year old son in your prayers.  He has been having some stomach problems the last 2 or 3 months, and has missed a lot of school. He has seen the doctor and already has had some tests done, but to no avail.  He is going to see a GI specialists on the 28th. Please pray for his healing, either that the doctors will be given wisdom from on high, or that the Lord will directly intervene.  Pray that we will be given the patience and faith to handle this situation, because it is becoming a real family crisis.

In His service,

Little Joe

Hi Joe,

My grandchildren have abdominal migraines. It might be something to look into if the doctors can't find any other diagnosis.

Here is some information.

Hi Joe,

Your son and family will be in my prayers, I am sure that not knowing what is the cause is almost as distressing as seeing him in pain.

His Peace and Comfort to you all,

Joe

Be assured Little Joe,

Prayers are said for you and your family.

Luke 21 : 31 ...listen! Satan has asked excessively that ALL OF you be given up to him out of the power and keeping of God, that he might sift ALL OF you like grain. 32 But I (Jesus Christ) have prayed especially for you that your faith may not fail: and when you are converted, strengthen and establish your brethren.

Is this sifting...the process through which we are converted?

Peace be to all the brothers and sisters who are suffering that our faith not fail, that we too be converted and strengthened to establish and love one another as Christ has loved us.

Little Joe,
My prayers and thought are with you and your family. When our children are hurting it works much harder on us. HIS peace and grace to you. We all face these issues but our hope is in HIM.

Everybody,

My son is continuing to have problems. He has missed 26 days of school so far this year.   His grades are suffering as well as his health.  Keep us in your prayers.

Hi Joe,

Are the doctors still mystified as to the cause of your son's problems? We went through that with a family member a few years back and it really complicated matters.

It may be time to start all over with another set of doctors, the not knowing certainly heightens your anxiety.

Your son, you and your family are in my prayers.

His Healing Peace to you all,

Joe

Hi Little Joe,

I'm pretty sure they have to provide teachers for him at home if you have the doctor put him on home hospital. My grandchildren have teachers that come to the house twice a week. This is even in place when my granddaughter can go to school sometimes. The schools can be resistive, but I think it falls under the "no child left behind" law. My grandson was so sick that we had to hire a lawyer to get him an IEP. The school really fought us, but we won. They are petty about it because they have to count the disabled children's tests scores if they have more than a certain percent of disabled children in the school. They even lied to us and told us we had a choice to hold my grandson back or home school him. He is in the gate program and highly intelligent. It was all about test scores.

So type your state and home hospital into google and see if you can find out the law there. Talk to the principal of the school. It is the school's responsibility to teach your son if he is too sick to go to school.

Here is a link to information that seems to be in most states.

Continued prayers for all of you. I know how stressful it can be and it's hard to find help and support.

Hugs,

M.G. you were spot on.  I suspected the abdominal migraines after reading the link.  We finally got him into a Doctor who suspects the same thing, so now he can be treated.  His last bought of sickness, he had a migraine headache to go with it.  It appears to be all the same thing.

Thanks for your awesome insight!

Yours in Christ,

Joe

Also,  Thank you everybody for your prayers!

Hi Joe,

This is great news indeed, the only way to get proper treatment is with a proper diagnosis.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

His Peace to you,

Joe

The kids bought these sea-bands a few days ago and it is really helping their stomach problems.
They won't take them off now.

They are not expensive and it's worth a try. They wear one on each wrist. My daughter and grandchildren all say they are really helping. They found them in a pharmacy here.

Here is a link.

Thanks for all your prayers folks.  They mean a lot.  My son seems to be doing better.  We have him on a special diet now. I'm enjoying spending more time with him, especially our Scripture reading and prayer time.  He actually joined in with prayer last night, and that really encouraged me.

In Christ's Love,

Joe
