Go see a doctor - if you tore the muscle it won't heal unless it immobilized.
Be safe and see a doctor.

Hi Roy,

I had a similar pain many years ago after hacking off the rendering of a house. In the end I had to have an injection in my elbow. In fact I've had injections in both my elbows and both my shoulders and they have made a big difference. The problem that I had could have been due to having played a lot a squash as well.

A woman has contacted me via e-mail that has been browsing the forum for awhile, but hasn't introduced herself yet. She is a registered nurse massage therapist and has dealt with these type of injuries. She has offered to help me. She even provided her phone number to coach me or Silvia in trigger points and how to deal with this. Isn't that really nice of her? I look forward to seeing her join us soon. I'm going to call her today because so far I'm still able to play my guitar, and Noel and I are about to start recording music. I can't let this pain stop me from doing that. 8)

Hey Roy,
I did kind of the same thing a couple years ago.
Was lifting a big can at the dump, and my right arm made a popping noise at the forearm. Hurt really bad for hours, then eased off some.
The next day a large bruise was on it, and though it didn't hurt as much, I had shooting pains when extending or reaching.
I have a 6 pound dumbell, and began doing over the head reps. 30 or so, with both arms, a couple times each day. This helped a lot, haven't had any more pain in the arm for about a year or more now.

Hi Joel,
 I went to a therapist. She worked all the trigger points but it didn't do anything.
In my case the more I use my arm the worst it gets. I'm thinking I have no choice but to go to a doctor, but first I'm going to try a natural pain solutions Doctor that Silvia likes so much. I went to him last year for a solution to quit smoking and he placed these little acupuncture needle patches in my ear that I was suppose to wear for a month. My ears got really sore from it. The whole time I'm thinking how in the heck can I quit smoking with needles in my ear. It was a joke; to me anyway.
 But just to indulge Silvia I'm going to go see him. She won't let up on me.
