Thanks for that post.

Policemen have German Shepherds, and the blind and disabled need dogs that guide them. 

Like Janine said, sometimes that's all that people have in the world for comfort. 

And I know this is a parable, but is worth noting:

Luke 16:21 Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. ...

And we might not like dogs (I don't like all dogs), but I'd be glad God made the German Shepherd in the back of that police car that chased down the mo fro that attacked my kid or stole my purse or whatever.  You better believe it.   (Policemen even weep when they have to put their companions down.)  And some people abuse their dogs, and that's so sad.  But that's another post.
