Prepare for rough times?

I can't offer any better answer that what Jesus gives us in Matthew 6

25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

the food i have now is sufficient, and im low, God willing this week i will be stocking up, but  only my normal needs.

and as of late, i have been shown i dont need as much as i thought.

God is good, what we see is not what is. we could be starving born into a station of want and need, oh wait we are in one form or another, may the starving children of the ""physical"" world, have more than us in the next!
May the God of reconciliation of ALL things be glorified , in this age and the ages to come!

Yes your mom is right, it is good to stock up our barns but we should be careful which barn we store in, Jesus said: "And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry. But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:16-21).

 a few months ago  I was talking to a brilliant young man about this very scenario He said this to me  the people that have these solar self sufficient home are going to be the first place to be plumage when the hard times come.  It will be the nomadic people that will make it  I believe it will be the ones God wants to make it for a purpose and He is preparing us now, for this event.  But I am not so convince of the necessity of this dooms day prophesy. As much as what I see happening right now in the good old USA  and that is the conversion of the three countries coming together  Canada, Mexico and United States.  Our dollar is being level down to theirs and so is our wages.  The rich are getting richer and the poor is getting poorer.  Which will be great for us  to shed ourselves of all the distractions and to live more simpler
could end up to help us move into the Will of the Father.  Just an opinion  peggy

HEY ez2u/Peggy-You and your friend are both correct as far as i am concerned , personally.
There has been a message from our Father growing in my spirit for some time now and the word nomadic hit me between the eyes-about a week ago i asked about riches and it seems to me many here like me are learning to live with less.It is not an easy lesson however i know that even if all i have is the clothes on my back and a few personal posessions i will be just fine and that is all i have.
